Ancient Totem

Ancient Totem is a late-game addon designed for RLCraft 2.9.x. It introduces the powerful Ancient Totem of Undying, which protects its owner directly from the Baubles CHARM slot.

Ancient Totem of Undying

The Ancient Totem can save its owner from fatal damage without being held in either hand.

• Works from the Baubles CHARM slot
• Stores up to 10 charges
• Each charge represents 500 durability
• Maximum durability: 5,000
• Automatically activates when the player receives fatal damage
• A single lethal hit can consume only one charge
• Remains as an inactive relic after reaching zero charges
• Displays the current number of charges in its tooltip
• Fully server-authoritative and multiplayer compatible

Activating the relic produces a custom dark-dragon effect instead of the ordinary vanilla Totem animation. The effect includes a rotating Ancient Totem, a dark-purple vignette, dragon-breath particles, special sounds, and a notification displaying the remaining charges.

Repairing the Totem

The Ancient Totem can only be restored in an anvil:

Ancient Totem + 1 Nether Star = 1 restored charge

Mending, Unbreaking, and all other enchantments are disabled. This prevents players from bypassing the expensive repair system and keeps the relic balanced as an endgame item.

Quality Equipment Integration

The Ancient Totem supports item qualities. Its quality can be rerolled using:

1 Glowing Ingot

Glowing Ingots are only used for quality rerolling and cannot restore the totem’s charges.

Immortal Core

The mod also introduces the Immortal Core, an extremely rare component required to craft the Ancient Totem.

Its late-game recipes require some of the most valuable materials found in RLCraft, including:

• Totems of Undying
• Nether Stars
• Dragon Hearts
• Tier 5 Dragon Skull
• Dragon Scales
• Glowing Ingots
• Spectral Silt

The recipes do not require an Ankh Shield or Dragon’s Eye. Both the Immortal Core and Ancient Totem recipes are displayed through JEI.
