Description
Alpine Touring adds ski touring, climbing equipment, backpacks, and camping to Minecraft. It is designed for players who want to turn snowy mountains into places to explore, climb, and camp—alone or with friends.
What does it add?
- Skiing: skis with attachable bindings, climbing skins, ski poles, momentum, steering, and braking.
- Climbing: ice axes, crampons, chalk, ropes, harnesses, descenders, and placeable anchor points.
- Backpacks: 20–55-litre variants with storage, equipment slots, and external attachments. The 20-litre airbag backpack requires a loaded cartridge.
- Camping: a closable one-person tent, sleeping bag, gas stove, cooking, and snow melting.
- Survival: hydration, temperature, stamina, and equipment weight.
- Expedition electronics: rechargeable headlamps, multiplayer communicators, and avalanche beacons.
- Crafting and discovery: equipment recipes, colour variants, advancements, and an in-game guide.
Getting started
Craft the Alpine Touring guide with a book and a compass. It explains recipes and equipment use.
Equip a backpack with Sneak + right-click, then press B to open it. Install bindings before equipping skis. G switches between skins and downhill mode; Sneak brakes. Key bindings can be changed in Minecraft’s Controls menu.
Before downloading
This mod is in beta. Movement, animations, climbing, and rescue mechanics are still being refined. Avalanche behaviour is experimental and limited to small local snow slides.
Download the file matching both your Minecraft version and mod loader. Install the dependencies listed on that file’s version page. Do not install multiple Alpine Touring versions together.
For multiplayer, install matching versions and required dependencies on the server and every client. Two-player LAN has been tested; dedicated-server compatibility has not yet been fully verified.
Back up existing worlds before updating. Full compatibility with other gameplay mods.
