*At this time in development, this mod is heavily intended to be used with the Avalorn: Civilization modpack. As more updates are released, it will become significantly easier to integrate with other packs.

What is Avalorn: Civilization?

Avalorn: Civilization is a feature-rich mod designed for roleplay and civilization-building servers. It introduces systems that make player interaction meaningful — from minting your own coins and running market stalls, to writing letters and posting notices around town, to specializing in one of 13 unique professions that encourage cooperation and trade.

Every system is built to work together. A blacksmith forges coins that fuel the economy. A scribe writes contracts sealed with ink. A hunter sets traps and trades rare materials only they can craft. No single player can do everything alone — and that's the point.

Physical Economy

Forget abstract numbers — Avalorn brings real, physical currency into Minecraft. Coins are tangible items you hold, trade, store, and steal.

Every coin starts as raw metal and passes through a hands-on production chain.

Coin Customization

30+ metal types — Gold, Silver, Copper, Iron, Bronze, Steel, and many more (with TFC integration support)
4 coin styles — Sun, Moon, Clover, and A-Mark — applied via craftable Style Scrolls and Die Stamps
A server-side Minted Coin Registry tracks every coin ever produced

Market Stalls

Player Market Stalls — Set up your own shop with separate stock and profit storage. Customers browse and buy; you collect the coins later.
Admin Market Stalls — Infinite-stock shops for server-run economies and essential goods.

Letters & Communication

Bring written communication to life. Craft letters, write messages with a full text editor, and share them across your world.

Letters — Write, edit, and sign physical letters with custom titles and body text. Hand them to players, leave them in chests, or mail them.
Posted Notes — Mount letters on any wall as readable notices. Perfect for tavern boards, town decrees, and shop signs.
Mailboxes — Place mailboxes at homes and buildings. Players can drop off letters for each other — simple, immersive, effective.

13 Professions

Choose a specialization. Unlock exclusive recipes. Trade what only you can make.

The profession system is fully datapack-driven, meaning server owners can customize everything. Each profession unlocks unique Signature crafting materials — items that no other profession can create — driving a natural web of player-to-player trade.

Highlights

Tiered Crafting — Open-tier recipes anyone can use, plus profession-exclusive Signature recipes that create real demand
Master Crafting — Tools and armor can be "master crafted" for significant bonuses: +25% damage, +25% mining speed, +1 armor, and 50% extra durability
Functional Items — Miners get a Prospecting Kit that scans for nearby ores. Priests craft Blessing Vessels that heal and buff allies for hours.
Hunter Traps — Placeable bear traps that damage entities — crafted exclusively by Hunters
Terra Preta — Enhanced farmland that doubles crop growth speed

Storage & Utilities

Wooden Crates — Bulk storage for a single item type. Holds 50 stacks (3,200 items) with intuitive click interactions — right-click to deposit, left-click to withdraw. No GUI needed.
Labeled Crates — Same capacity, but displays the stored item on an attached note for at-a-glance warehouse organization.

Player HUB

A centralized interface for player identity, server announcements, and quick reference:

Player Profile — View your identity and current profession at a glance
Welcome Screen — Greets first-time players automatically
Server Announcements — Admins can push priority-ranked announcements to all players in real-time
Commands Reference — Built-in help panel so players never feel lost
