All Is Random
Open a box, swing a sword, mine a block, or take a step: the next result is a surprise. All Is Random adds a collection of rainbow tools, armor, consumables, and toys for chaotic Minecraft experiments. Many random pools include content registered by other installed mods.
Start playing
Choose the file that matches both your Minecraft version and mod loader. Install it on the client and server. Forge 1.20.1 also requires Curios API 5.14.1 or newer for Minecraft 1.20.1; Fabric 1.20.1 requires Fabric API. The NeoForge builds do not require another mod.
Open the All Is Random creative tab to find the items. You can also use commands, for example /give @s all_is_random:random_giver. The mod currently supplies no crafting recipes: use Creative mode, commands, or a modpack's own recipes to obtain the starting items.
Random items and tools
- Random Flower / Random Giver: right-click to receive a random registered item, including items from other mods.
- Random Shell: right-click a block to replace it with a random block. Consumed on successful use.
- Random Egg: summons a randomly selected creature.
- Random Potion: drink for one randomly selected non-instant potion effect lasting eight minutes. Instant health and instant damage are excluded.
- Random Sword: rolls up to 2.1 billion damage for a direct melee hit. Damage still interacts with the game's combat rules.
- Random Pickaxe: mining a block in Survival produces an additional random item. The pickaxe is unbreakable.
- Random Bow + Random Arrow: fire a randomly selected non-living entity. A shot might become an arrow, a boat, or something more dangerous. Random Arrows are the bow's ammunition.
- Random Block: a soft block that rolls 1–32 distinct item types from this mod when mined in Survival, capped by the available pool. It drops one of each selected type and can include another Random Block.
- Random Box: opens into one creative-only item, such as a barrier, command block, debug stick, or spawn egg. Receiving a command block does not grant permission to use it.
- Random Fruit: directly adds 325 hunger points and 325 saturation, allowing both values to exceed their usual limits, and rerolls a health modifier between 1% and 200%. It does not change the limits applied when eating other foods.
- Random Music: switches to a randomly selected registered music track or disc track.
- Random Firework: launches a rocket with randomized colors, shapes, flight, trail, and twinkle.
Random armor
- Boots: transform blocks beneath your feet as you walk.
- Chestplate: randomly reduces incoming damage.
- Leggings: give jumps a random height and prevent fall damage.
- Helmet: visually disguises creatures as other creatures on your client. The actual entities retain their AI, health, and hitboxes.
Random Pocket Watch
Pause a local singleplayer world, select a creature, and use the on-screen menu to adjust or remove it. Release the time stop to resume play. The watch does not freeze dedicated servers or worlds opened to LAN.
Extra content in Forge 1.20.1
The Forge build includes 30 registered items, counting the Random Block item. The Fabric and NeoForge builds contain the 18 core items described above. The following extras are currently Forge-only:
- Random Villager: spawns a rainbow villager with randomized trades.
- Random Name / Random Texture: toggle client-side shuffles of item display names or item models.
- Random Wormhole: teleports in a random direction over a potentially enormous distance, within the world border.
- Eight Curios accessories: random flight and mining speed, Intelligence and Quality attributes, rotating potion effects, shorter nights, projectile reflection, and extreme movement speed. Equip each accessory in its matching Curios slot.

Configuration
Forge and NeoForge use config/all_is_random-common.toml. Fabric uses config/all_is_random.json.
randomGiverCooldown, randomWandCooldown, and randomEggCooldown control the corresponding item cooldowns in ticks. Each defaults to 20 ticks, or one second.
Random block transformations, hostile creatures, explosives, and long-distance teleportation can change a world dramatically. Try the items in a separate test world before using them in a world you want to keep.
