What's new

READ THIS FIRST

  • Update together: this version needs BLib 0.3.12a, AVP Human 0.1.12a and AVP Predator 0.1.7b or newer, and will not load with older ones.
  • Installing by hand? Delete the old avp_alien-... jar first, or the game finds the mod twice and will not start. The CurseForge and Modrinth apps handle this for you.

Game Breaking Changes

None this release. Nothing is removed, and world loading is unchanged. Existing hives stay where they are.

New

RECIPE VIEWERS (JEI, REI AND EMI)

  • Drop pages for every alien mob and block.
  • Infection pages: which hosts each facehugger can infect, the embryo it leaves and how long it gestates. In single player they include data pack infections.
  • Evolution pages: every growth stage, the chestburster cocoon path, potion and effect evolutions, and alternate outcomes.
  • World interaction pages: resin burning into basalt, nether resin freezing into netherrack, and tying an egg shut with a lead or capture cord.
  • Info pages for the alien pottery sherds.
  • Resin nodes are hive-only, so they are hidden from all three viewers.

LOOT

  • Alien music disc fragments can now be found in ancient city chests (15%, 1 to 3) and dungeon chests (10%, 1 to 2).

COMPATIBILITY

  • Burnt: resin now burns beside Burnt's flames after a few seconds, just as with vanilla fire. Data packs can add any mod's flames to the avp_alien:resin_burners tag.

Changes

HIVES

  • A hive's centre is never placed above the ground: at ground level or below only. This covers new hives, daughter hives and empress hives.
  • An empress walks to her hive's centre before her egg sack forms.

Bug Fixes

HIVES AND QUEENS

  • On flat worlds, a queen turned away where she stood no longer wakes and falls asleep again every second, forever. She walks to the nearest spot she may found a hive in and sleeps there.
  • A daughter hive whose spot was in an unloaded area is no longer placed at a fixed height of 64, which could put it in the sky.
  • A hive founded by an empress now counts as established, the same as a queen's.

XENOMORPHS

  • A xenomorph attacked by one from another strain now fights back. Before, it could keep chasing its nearest target instead of its attacker.

LOOT

  • Alien pottery sherds now turn up in ocean ruins on NeoForge too. They were Fabric-only.
