Albion Mastery is a weapon mastery system for Minecraft 1.20.1 Forge that drops into any modpack. It reads the weapons from the mods you already have (TACZ guns, melee packs, SlashBlade blades, spells, bows, and any modded sword or axe) and levels each one up as you fight with it. Every level makes that weapon hit harder, and trained weapon types unlock 154 specializations that trade one strength for another, so the weapons nobody used to pick up finally have a reason to be trained.
Versions
| Minecraft | Loader / Java | Install on | Dependencies |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1.20.1 | Forge 47.x, Java 17 | Client and server | None (Cloth Config API for the config screen is bundled) |
Every supported weapon mod is optional, and sources that aren't installed simply don't appear.
Three mastery rings
Press B to open the mastery compass. Mastery is tracked on three rings:
- Source: where the weapon comes from, such as TACZ guns or SlashBlade.
- Type: rifles, shotguns, swords, axes, bows and so on.
- Weapon: every single item.
Every kill gives XP to all three rings, and each ring adds damage to the weapons inside it. With the default settings a single weapon tops out at level 100 for +200% damage; the type and source rings level more slowly.
The mastery compass: sources in the middle, weapon types around them, every weapon on the outer ring
Specializations
Every weapon type has a primary and a secondary slot. The first opens when the type and its source reach level 50, the second at level 100. There are 154 specializations across 9 sources, and each one comes with a real cost:
- Guns: magazines, ammo, barrels and muzzles, bolts, stocks and grips, training and gear: fire rate, ADS time, recoil, spread, kill refills and more.
- Melee: reach, backstab and combo damage.
- SlashBlade: SA damage and proud souls.
- Spells: mana cost, cooldown and double casting.
Card text is generated from the actual config values, so it always matches your modpack's numbers.

Mastery Rank
Your rank is account-wide and grows with the total level of all your weapons. Maxing one weapon only gets you so far; to climb, you have to train many. Every promotion plays its own animation, and the road of ranks shows how far your modpack can take you.

FTB Quests
With FTB Quests installed there is a Mastery Rank task type, so modpack makers can lock quests and chapters behind a rank. Clicking the task opens the mastery screen.

FAQ
Will it find the weapons in my modpack? Most likely. Gun packs, melee packs and SlashBlade addons are read automatically, and so are swords, axes, bows and crossbows from any mod. Anything missed can be added in the config with one line.
Does the server need it? Yes, install it on both the client and the server. It also works in single player.
Can I put it in a modpack? Yes, no need to ask. Please credit the author; commercial use is not allowed (see the license below).
Anything to know before updating? Back up your config folder first. The changelog of each version lists what changed.
