What's new

AkumaLib 6.0.0

Bodies of every size. A player can now be bigger or smaller than a man, and everything follows: his reach, his blows, his techniques, his walk, his jump, his health, the camera, the sounds and what he summons. A man at normal size plays exactly as before. The character creator becomes a book with a size slider for every race, and addons can now bring races of their own, giants included (Race Race no Mi). Large pirate ships and Marine battleships generate again, and wild mobs may now have eaten a Devil Fruit.

Requires Minecraft 1.20.1, Forge 47+ and Mine Mine no Mi 0.11.6 or newer. JEI and EMI are optional.

⚠️ Network protocol 16. The sizes are now sent to the players, so 6.0.0 does not play with 5.2.0 or older: update the server and every client together.

⚠️ Why a 6. One method an addon could call changed what it gives back (NpcStyles.giveFruit, see the end), and the size system changes how far and how hard the techniques of a big or small body reach. Nothing else was taken out. Every published addon accepts 6.0.0 as it is: Awaken Awaken no Mi, Awaken Path, Cruise Cruise no Mi, InoFruits, Missing Missing no Mi and Sky Island.

New

  • Your size. Mine Mine no Mi's character creator gets a size slider, from 0.75 to 1.25 times a man in small steps, a man in the middle. A race brought by an addon can be bigger by nature (Race Race no Mi's fishmen and giants) and have its own slider. The size stays with you through death, a relog and a change of dimension.
  • Everything follows the body. A big body reaches farther, hits harder, walks with bigger strides, jumps higher, falls from higher, has more health and takes knockback less. Its techniques grow with it: areas, beams, projectiles, explosions, dashes, grabs (a giant can grab several at once), walls, cages, zones, the creatures it summons, the particles and the sounds. A small body is the other way round. The tooltips give the range a technique has at your size.
  • The limits of a big body. It is slower in the air and sinks faster in water when it does not swim up, cannot ride a horse or a boat past twice a man's size, and its cooldowns are a little longer. Under a roof too low for it, it gets out instead of choking in the blocks. Chests and wandering traders open as far as its arm reaches.
  • The camera, the box and the eyes follow the size: first person at the body's real eye height, third person backs off with the size, steps up higher blocks, casts a bigger shadow, hears from its middle.
  • Forms that make you bigger add to your own size: a giant in a form that doubles a man is bigger still. Above four times a man, what a form adds grows less and less, and nothing goes past sixteen. Mine Mine no Mi's Deka, Gomu Gigant, Brachio Guard and Daibutsu count in that total: the Daibutsu of a man is about 11 blocks high instead of 13.
  • A new character creator. The choices of each step (faction, race, style, profession) are laid out in a grid, with the chosen one's sub-races, a 3D preview of the race you can turn, its bonuses, its description and its techniques with their full tooltips. Locked choices say why. characterCreator.gridBook = false in akumalib-client.toml gives back Mine Mine no Mi's own screen.
  • Wild mobs with Devil Fruits. Any mob that spawns on its own may have eaten a Devil Fruit of the wooden box and use it (mobFruitChance in akumalib-server.toml, section npcFruitUsers, 0.01 % by default). A peaceful animal that has one no longer flees: it turns on whoever hits it. Bosses, water mobs and Mine Mine no Mi's NPCs are left out. A Zoan given to a mob that is not built like a man takes its full form only.
  • Server switches in akumalib-server.toml, section sizeSystem, all on by default: sizeSlider (the creator's slider), raceBaseSizes (races bigger than a man), sizeSliderUnderOne (when off, a body the slider made smaller keeps a man's strength), sizeInPvp (when off, damage and knockback between two players as two men's) and bodyReachMenus (when off, chests and traders at a man's distance). The same section holds every figure of the size system. A change is applied to the players online within a second.

Mine Mine no Mi fixes

  • Large pirate ships and Marine battleships never appeared. They looked for a list of oceans that Mine Mine no Mi 0.11.6 does not have. They now generate in the deep oceans of new chunks.
  • Ice Age froze the server for a moment each time it was cast. Its start is now light.
  • Explosions beside a giant tornado (Awaken's Glittering Storm) froze the server for up to two seconds. They no longer do.
  • The forms that are your own body (Deka, Gomu Gigant, Hito Daibutsu, Mini, Inga Zarashi, Volt Amaru, and Awaken's Titan and Daibutsu) hid your cape, your hat, your parrot and everything addons draw on a player. They are shown now.
  • A second body inside the Mammoth hybrid. What is drawn over a player in a hybrid (Haki, a race's wings or fins) stayed on a man at rest inside the hybrid. It now follows the hybrid's body.
  • Wide forms crawled beside a block. A wide form such as Mammoth Guard Point dropped to the crawling pose against a wall. It now stands, lifted onto the block.

Fixes

  • A drawing cancelled by a vanishing effect (Missing Missing no Mi's Shima Merge) could crash the game at a size other than a man's. It no longer does.

For addon makers

  • The size system: the akumalib:size attribute and AkumaSize (factor, factorFor, hurt, damage, setBodySize, addFactorScale), SizeScale, AbilityContext, AkumaShapes, BlockShapeSize, AkumaSpawnSize, RaySize, SizeGrabs, SizeTooltips. Areas and lines through the base mod's RangeComponent and AkumaLib's bases follow the size by themselves. Tags akumalib:size_exempt (a technique that must not grow), size_form_made, form_keeps_reach, size_followers. See docs/utilities/attributes-and-size.md and docs/utilities/size-defects.md.
  • FormSizes.declare(form, size[, mode]): a form that makes its user bigger, as a modifier of the size.
  • Races: AkumaRaces.countAs (a race that counts as a base race for its techniques and prices), setCategoryIcon, setSize (a race's base size and slider). AkumaCreator.describe fills the creator book.
  • Looks: ArmSkins (a skin over the first-person arm), RecolouredSkins.tinted (a colour laid on a player's skin) and RecolouredSkins.hair, race wings an ability can move.
  • TornGroundEntity: ground torn out, carried and thrown, bursting where it lands.
  • Mobs with fruits: the entity tag akumalib:humanoid_fruit_users, NpcStyles.isHumanoid, NpcStyles.registerBeastFruits (the full form of a Zoan for a mob that is no humanoid).
  • Changed: NpcStyles.giveFruit now returns the abilities given (List<AbilityCore<?>>), or null when the fruit is refused, where it returned the goals. The compiled call is the same: an addon built against 5.x keeps running; one that stored the result as a list of goals needs a change to compile. AkumaAim.ahead takes a man's reach and grows it by the user's size itself. No other signature was removed or changed.

An addon that uses any of these declares versionRange = "[6.0.0,)". Leave the top of the range open.
