SableAi — Sable Addon for Minecraft 1.21.1
This mod adds AI control for vehicles assembled with Sable. By placing an AI Center on a chassis, setting its direction, and binding engines and weapons, the vehicle can independently track enemies, navigate, fly, and engage targets. Ground vehicles, aircraft, VTOLs, and space craft are supported.
Important note: Vehicle physics depend entirely on your physical build. If an aircraft lacks sufficient thrust or has improperly built wings, the AI will not be able to fly it.
Requirements Minecraft 1.21.1, NeoForge 21.1.228+, Java 21, and Sable 2.0.5. Create Big Cannons 5.11.7, Synaxis 1.4.3–1.5.x, and CreateArms 1.0.x are recommended for weapon and flap integration. The mod must be installed on both client and server. Crafting recipes are not included yet, so use Creative mode to obtain items.
Quick Start
-
Assemble your vehicle using Sable. Place the AI Center directly onto the assembled vehicle structure rather than ordinary world blocks.
-
Grab
sableai:ai_centerandsableai:control_wandfrom the Creative inventory. Place the AI Center on the vehicle and right-click it with the wand to select it. Cycle through modes (Wait, Attack, Retreat) by Shift + Right-clicking the center. -
Stand at the rear of the vehicle, look toward the front, and run
/sableai headingto set the forward axis. -
Run
/sableai scanto detect components and/sableai statusto inspect system diagnostics. -
Select the center with the wand and right-click an ordinary hull block of another vehicle or player to mark them as an enemy. Shift + Right-click marks a target as friendly.
-
Set the vehicle to combat mode using
/sableai attack.
Aircraft Setup
-
Assemble the hull, attach a functioning propeller or engine, and build working wings. Verify manually that the aircraft can fly.
-
Place an AI Center on the hull, select it with the wand, look toward the nose, and execute these commands in order: /sableai chassis air /sableai vtol off /sableai heading /sableai flaps on /sableai scan
-
Configure propulsion control. If using a directional gearshift, look in the direction of thrust and right-click the desired face with the wand. You can also bind compatible engines directly or place a
sableai:ai_outputblock next to their redstone input. -
Install Synaxis Compact Flaps. By default, the front pair controls roll, the rear pair controls pitch, and the tail controls yaw. Check flap statuses via
/sableai status. Flap roles can be manually assigned by clicking each flap with the wand in sequence. -
Mount Create Big Cannons weapons and run
/sableai guns all. -
Designate a target and enter
/sableai attack. Flight parameters can be adjusted with/sableai takeoffSpeed 8(takeoff speed),/sableai altitude 20(cruising height), and/sableai turnSpeed 15(turn rate).
Tanks, Anti-Air, and Artillery
-
Assemble a tracked or wheeled chassis, place the AI Center, face forward, and run
/sableai heading. -
Run
/sableai chassis tankand/sableai scan, then bind your engine. -
Place a CBC gun and execute
/sableai guns all. For rotating turrets with a Fixed Cannon Mount, Shift + Right-click the mount, then Right-click the Synaxis motors controlling turret rotation and elevation. -
Mark an enemy and run
/sableai attack. Set engagement range using/sableai distance 120and ground speed with/sableai speed 6. Tactical roles can be switched via/sableai role pvo,/sableai role rszo, or/sableai role tank. CreateArms launchers can be linked with/sableai missiles all.
VTOL and Space Vehicles For helicopters and VTOL craft, use /sableai chassis air, /sableai vtol on, and /sableai altitude 20 after binding vertical thrust outputs. For space craft, use /sableai chassis space and set the facing direction with /sableai heading. To disable AI gravity compensation, use /sableai chassisGravity 0.
Key Commands /sableai wait, /sableai attack, /sableai retreat — Change vehicle operational state /sableai scan — Rescan connected hardware /sableai guns all — Auto-connect detected CBC weaponry /sableai status — Display active diagnostics and configuration errors /sableai enemies ai — Target enemy AI vehicles exclusively /sableai enemies all — Target all hostile vehicles and players /sableai battleall — Trigger combat state across all loaded AI Centers /sableai approach direct — Direct attack vector (use rear for tail-chase maneuvers) /sableai aimpoint auto — Automatic targeting offset (lower hull for ground, center mass for air)
Troubleshooting If an aircraft fails to take off, check /sableai status to verify whether redstone signals reach the engines and whether propellers are rotating. If a weapon refuses to fire, verify ammo supply, target distance, barrel orientation, friend-or-foe status, and path clearance. To make two of your own vehicles engage each other, manually cross-mark their hulls as hostile using the wand.
