Discover Against The Legions, a Minecraft mod made for those who want to spice up their survival!


" I've always found Minecraft very easy (and that's no fault in itself), if not a little too easy. So I wondered what was missing to make the danger more constant, to make the experience more immersive. It was while I was launching a game of Minecraft Legends that I came up with this idea : implement a mod that adds outposts for each biome of Minecraft! With lots of treasures as a reward hehe ;) " - Agent 5M1TH

ATL is a Forge mod that adds structures, items, mobs that match with each biome.
It purpose is to make exploration and combat more thrilling by adding various outposts. It also introduces new mobs with unique designs such as the Raider, the Marauder, the Drifter and even more !

For ATL we tried our best to keep the vanilla shape of the mobs but with smoother animations making it compatible with mods like Born In Chaos or Alex's Mobs.
The mod offers a variety of weapons and give a new taste to the Minecraft experience !

Against The Legions is a good choice for a mid game survival because when you have no stuff, raiding those outposts is barely impossible.

Important Informations :

From version 3.0 onwards, the camps will be different: following a bug, I've decided to get rid of the old custom walls.

As a result, the new outposts will be very different from those in the first versions of the mod!

Mobs :

The Raiders

The Raider is the basic hostile mob of each Legion. It's not much different from a Zombie since it has almost the same damage and hit points. However, their unique design for each legion make the encounters and battle more thrilling !
(Oh btw, the Bog Raider inflicts a poison effect...)

The Lowland Legion

The Drifter :

The Drifter is a variant of the Marauder belonging to the Lowland Legion with a special ability : he is able to teleport after a hit making hime unpredictable.

The Lowland Creeper :

The Lowland Creeper also known as the Hidden Creeper is a strange creeper belonging to the Lowland Legion with a different mechanic : Indeed, he do not explode when he is close to you, he will die and turn into an unbreakable flower.
This flower, after a certain time, will explode and summon two Creepers.

The Maskkid and the Masked Clone

The Maskkid does not exist... He does not live in the forests... The Maskkid is an old legend about a kid bullied who turned into a monster made of leaves with a mask... When he's close to you, you won't be able to see around you anymore.
The Maskkid turns the humans and villagers into Masked Clones after killing them, these creatures will help him to find new targets...

Gulper, the Land King :

Gulper, the Land King is the Champion of the Lowland Legion, he is a massive creature living in a huge Fortress that you can find in the plains and the forests. He can call Drifters and Raiders to help him and he is also resistant against distance attacks like arrows.
When you shoot him, he will turn into the Mad King - it's the same entity with a different texture - who is weaker but invulnerable for a short period.

The Wilderness Legion

The Marauder :

The Marauder is a melee fighter belonging to the Wilderness Legion, it's comparable to a faster Raider with fewer hit points. You can currently find 3 different textures !

The Decomposed :

The Decomposed is a hostile mob belonging to the Wilderness Legion, it's an Iron Golem destroyed and infected by the Wild Virus [ - No Informations- ]. This golem is characterized by heavy damages and an important knockback, using the Dusty Puncher against him is a good plan !
To reward you for eliminating it you can obtain Sandron Ingots (Sand and Iron... Sandron... lol) that can be used to craft a Sandron Sword !

The Hollow Legion

The Powder Thrower :

The Powder Thrower is a cute hostile mob belonging to the Hollow Legion. He is not really violent and he spends his days collecting resources and digging... However, if you try to approach him you will quickly understand why he carries on a barrel on his back... (Spoilers : He drops TNT...)

The Hollow Knight :

Nope guys, we are not talking about the video game... The Hollow Knight is a massive creature belonging to the Hollow Legion. He's is really similar to the Decomposed with a lot of hit points, an important knockback and heavy damages.
A good strategy to get rid of him is to use the Sandron Sword.

The Baby Spider :

The Baby Spider, unlike the classic Spider, is always a hostile mob belonging to the Hollow Legion.
This adorable creature can be tamed in the Version 4.0.0 with sugar.

The Bog Legion

The Creebog :

The Creebog is a variant of the Creeper with glowing eyes and a mossy texture. He's not really different from a regular creeper except one detail : You can't see exactly when he is about to explode because he won't turn white before exploding !

The Chodst :

What a beautiful day... You and I... Walking in a swamp... Surrounded by ghostly cods... WAIT WHAT ?!
The Chodst is a hostile mob shaped like a ghostly cod, he targets players and cods.

The Fisherman :

After some years working as an archer, this Stray decided to retire and became a Fisherman living in the Swamps. He does not live in a special structure but you can find him wandering, waiting for the next fish to catch...
Despite its appearance, the Fisherman is really resistant.

Items :

The Sandron :

The Raw Sandron is an exclusive drop of the Decomposed.

It can be smelted to obtain this Sandron Ingot.

Currently, you can use the Sandron to craft a Sandron Sword, a sword dealing extra-damages to "Massive Creatures" (Warden, Wither, Enderman, Piglin Brute, Ravager, Decomposed, Hollow Knight and more...)

Smithing :

Against The Legions introduces a new mechanic : Smithing.

First, you need to craft the Smithing Hammer :

This Hammer can be used to obtain special items like Rubis Shard, Emerald, Golden Paper and... Leather ?
To use it, you must take an item in your Off Hand and Right-Click the ground with the Hammer.
By performing this action with special items you can get other items.

List :

                     Rubis => Rubis Shard
Flattened Emerald => Emerald
          Golden coin => Golden Paper
      Raider Leather => Leather

Treasures :

By exploring legion's outposts you can find Treasures, various objects with different properties.
Let's take a look at those treasures !

The Totem :

In the first place, you'll find a Damaged Totem in the outposts. This item is compltetely useless... BUT, with a Smithing Table you can use a Rubis Shard and a Pure Gem to turn it into a Purified Totem.

This item apply an effect of Regeneration II, which is pretty usefull during a battle. And it doesn't end there !

After crafting the Purified Totem you can now turn it into the Purest Totem by using a Purest Shard !

This item apply an effect of Regeneration III and Health Boost II.

The One Ring :

"One ring to rule them all, one ring to find them, One ring to bring them all, and in the darkness bind them; In the Land of Mordor where the shadows lie."

In the first place, you'll find The One Ring in the outposts. This item is compltetely useless... BUT, with a Smithing Table you can use a Rubis Shard and a Pure Gem to turn it into... The One Ring. (No it's not a joke...)

When you hit someone with this item in your off-hand, you'll set it on fire during 10 seconds ! And it doesn't end there !

After crafting The One Ring, you can now turn it into The Purest One Ring by using a Purest Shard !

When you hit someone with this item in your off-hand, you'll set it on fire during 20 seconds ! And there's a 30% chance to apply "Weakness" during 3 seconds.

The Shymore :

In the first place, you'll find a Golden Shymore in the outposts. This item is compltetely useless and beautiful... BUT, with a Smithing Table you can use a Rubis Shard and a Pure Gem to turn it into a Shymore.

When it's in your inventory, this item grants you an effect of Jump Boost I. And it doesn't end there !

After saving the Shymore, you can now turn it into the Purest Shymore by using a Purest Shard !

When it's in your inventory, this item grants you an effect of Jump Boost II and Luck I !
