0.4.5 CHANGELOG
✨ New Features & Visuals
- Rusty Iron Equipment: Added a full set of Rusty Iron armor, tools (sword, pickaxe, axe, shovel, hoe), shears, ingots, nuggets, blocks, and a Rusty Bucket! These are organized into a brand new "Afterdeath: Rusty Iron Stuff" creative tab.
- Rusty Item Creation: You can create Rusty Iron items by throwing vanilla iron ingots, nuggets, or blocks into Infected Water. Placing an iron block adjacent to infected water will also rust it.
- WorldEdit Integration: Added full WorldEdit support with new
//infectand//curecommands! You can now infect or purify massive WorldEdit selections at once. This includes full support for//undoand//redoblock history. - Sack Keybinds: Added dedicated keybinds in the vanilla Controls menu (default
0,-,=) for reaching the extra 10th, 11th, and 12th slots in the Sack for human/infected players. - New Advancements: Added 3 new advancements related to the Rusty Iron update: "Rusty but Trusty", "Tetanus Shot Required", and "Containment Breach".
- Settings UI Redesign: Completely overhauled the Afterdeath Settings menu!
⚖️ Balance Changes
- Rusty Combat Effects: Rusty armor slowly infects the wearer over time, but acts like Thorns by dealing infection to players, Poison I to mobs to attackers. Striking targets with Rusty tools will also apply Poison I to mobs and infection to players!
- Infected Block Harvesting: Harvesting any infected blocks (including Wet Infected Sponges) in Survival mode now strictly requires using the correctly matching Rusty Iron tool.
- Gas Zombie Equipment: Gas Zombies now have a much higher chance (70%) to spawn wielding Rusty Iron swords or axes instead of stone equipment.
- Gas Zombie Neutralization: Slaying a Gas Zombie specifically with any Rusty Iron tool will now completely prevent it from releasing its infected gas cloud upon death.
- Rusty Bucket Mechanics: Rusty buckets instantly convert normal water into infected water upon scooping. Attempting to scoop lava with one will instantly melt the bucket, destroy it, and set you on fire!
- Sprinting Restrictions Overhaul: Skeletons and Zombies are fully restricted from sprinting during the day, unless in darkness, thunder or rain. Added brand new toggles in the server settings to independently allow or restrict daylight sprinting for Zombies, Skeletons, and Wither Skeletons.
🐛 Bug Fixes & Polish
- OptiFine Crash Fix: Fixed a massive incompatibility crash that prevented the mod from loading at all when OptiFine was installed.
- Sack Skeleton Render: Fixed an issue where the Sack 3D model would turn invisible when worn by a player in the Skeleton or Wither Skeleton stages.
- Stage Bar Interpolation: The infection and stage progress bar now updates with a smooth animation (lerp) instead of jittering or jumping suddenly. Background update rates were also heavily optimized to save server performance.
- Settings Menu Polish: Fixed text bleeding out of the scroll boxes, fixed the double-click sound when opening settings, and restructured the configuration categories to be cleaner (splitting Interactions into Zombie and Skeleton tabs, and merging common Skeleton settings).
- Wither Skeleton Command Fix: Fixed a bug where using
/skeleton [player] wither_skeletonwould mistakenly turn the target player into a Fresh Zombie instead of a Wither Skeleton.
