AE2: Power Integration

An addon for Applied Energistics 2 that allows you to use AE2 cables, buses, and interfaces to power FE-compatible machines. You can also use your ME network to pull power from generators, reactors, energy cubes, and other FE energy sources!

What's new

Added Cable-Based Power Transfer Tiers

New Features

  • Added four configurable power transfer tiers based on AE2 cable types.
  • Each cable tier now has its own maximum FE transfer rate per connected machine.
  • Added support for both FE-to-AE power transfer and AE-to-FE power transfer through cable connections.
  • Added tier detection for standard, smart, dense covered, and dense smart cables.
  • Machines connected through multiple cable tiers use the highest available tier limit.

Cable Tier Limits

Tier AE2 Cable Type Default Transfer Limit
Tier 1 Glass Cable / Covered Cable 65,536 FE/t
Tier 2 Smart Cable 131,072 FE/t
Tier 3 Dense Covered Cable 262,144 FE/t
Tier 4 Dense Smart Cable 524,288 FE/t

Configuration

  • Added configurable transfer limits for all four cable tiers under cableTiers.
  • Increased the default per-machine transfer limit to 524,288 FE/t to accommodate Tier 4.
  • Preserved the existing network-wide transfer limit and other power bridge settings.

Jade Integration

  • Updated Jade block component registration to use the appropriate AE2 block classes.
  • Retained the existing ME network power transfer tooltip integration.

Technical Improvements

  • Added per-machine cable tier tracking during endpoint collection.
  • Ensured cable tier limits apply in both power transfer directions.
  • Preserved existing network transfer budgeting and energy reserve behavior.
  • Added fallback handling for dense cable types without a more specific tier classification.

Notes

  • Cable tier limits apply per connected machine, not as a shared bandwidth limit across an entire cable segment.
  • The network-wide transfer limit still applies across all connected machines.
  • Machines connected through buses, interfaces, or pattern providers continue using the configured default machine transfer limit.
