AE2 Disk Locator

Stop pulling cells. Start pointing at them.

Disk Locator

"Somewhere in this wall of ME Drives is the disk you're looking for. Good luck."

You know the feeling. Forty drives. Four hundred cells. That one Bulk Disk with your netherite is definitely in there somewhere. You start pulling cells one by one like it's a game show.

Disk Locator is the little radar that ends that game show.

Craft it, right-click any block of your ME network, and a clean terminal pops up. Pick an item — the exact drive holding its disk lights up in the world through the walls, complete with a beacon beam so you can walk straight to it. No more guessing. No more cell roulette.

What it does

  • 🔍 Item Search — Type an item, or just leave the box empty to browse every item in your network and click one. The drives that hold it glow green in the world; the one you click gets a bright orange beam. Even empty partitioned disks show up — so you can find the home of an item that's currently out of stock.
  • 🃏 Missing Compression Card finder — Running MEGA Cells? Instantly list every Bulk Cell that has a compression recipe but no Compression Card installed, so you never leave free compression on the table again.
  • 🧭 See-through-walls highlight — Located drives are drawn through terrain with a glowing box, a bright outline, and a beacon beam on the selected one — findable whether you're staring at them or standing on the other side of the base.
  • 📡 Go wireless — Link the tool at a Wireless Access Point (just drop it in the linking slot) and open your network from across the base with a right-click in the air. Fully respects your access point's range — including AE Infinity Booster cards for infinite and cross-dimensional access.
  • ⚙️ Made for your setup — Click a result to focus a single drive, and cycle the GUI height (left-click forward, right-click back) so it fits whatever GUI scale you play at.

Works with your storage

Scans AE2 ME Drives, ME Chests, and add-on drives (including ExtendedAE Extended ME Drives) — anything built on AE2's drive interface just works. Normal cells, partitioned cells, and MEGA Bulk Cells are all fair game.

Crafting

A shaped recipe made from proper AE2 parts — processors, a storage component, fluix, and an ender eye to do the looking.

Requirements

  • Applied Energistics 2 (required)
  • Kotlin for Forge (required)
  • MEGA Cells (optional — enables the compression-card finder)
  • AE Infinity Booster (optional — infinite / cross-dimensional wireless range)

Stop pulling cells. Start pointing at them.
