✨ Why Use Actually Additions: Advanced Machinery?
- Space-Saving: Consolidate your entire Empowerer setup (1 Empowerer block + 4 Display Stands) into a single, compact block.
- Exponential Upgrades: Dramatically increase speed or reduce energy consumption using up to 8 Speed and 8 Energy Upgrades.
- Automation Friendly: Fully compatible with hoppers, pipes, and transport networks for streamlined processing lines.
- Seamless JEI Integration: View recipes and transfer ingredients automatically with standard recipe-viewer support.
⚡ Quick Start
- Craft the Advanced Empowerer block.
- Place it in your world and connect a power source supplying Forge Energy (FE).
- Right-click the block to open its custom GUI.
- Place the base ingredient in the center slot and up to 4 modifier items in the surrounding cross slots.
- Wait for the progress bar to complete and collect your empowered item from the output slot!
🎮 Main Features
- Single-Block Empowering: Replaces the classic multi-block Empowerer setup with one clean block.
- Cross-Layout GUI: Intuitive 5-slot input layout mirroring the Actually Additions Empowering recipe format (1 base slot + 4 modifier slots).
- Dynamic Energy Buffer: Features a base capacity of 2,000,000 FE, which scales up to 20,000,000 FE when upgraded.
- Dual Upgrade Slots: Supports dedicated Speed Upgrades (reducing tick duration) and Energy Upgrades (reducing consumption and expanding capacity).
- Directional Placement: Rotates to face the player upon placement.
- Inventory Safety: Safely drops all contained items (inputs, outputs, and upgrades) into the world when broken.
🔋 Upgrade Mechanics
Optimize your production line by installing Upgrades in the bottom-right slots of the Advanced Empowerer GUI (up to 8 of each type).
- Speed Upgrade (Max 8): Reduces processing time. Speed multiplier scales exponentially: $$S(u) = 10^{\frac{u}{8}}$$ (At 8 upgrades, the machine operates at 10x speed, reducing the base 200-tick craft to just 20 ticks / 1 second).
- Energy Upgrade (Max 8): Reduces energy consumption per operation and scales the internal energy capacity exponentially: $$\text{Capacity}(E) = 2,000,000 \times 10^{\frac{E}{8}}$$ (At 8 upgrades, the internal buffer increases to 20,000,000 FE, allowing the machine to easily absorb heavy energy spikes).
- Combined Formula: Energy usage per tick is calculated as: $$\text{Usage} = \text{BaseUsage} \times 10^{\frac{2S - E}{8}}$$ Installing both 8 Speed Upgrades and 8 Energy Upgrades scales the tick consumption to a balanced level of approximately 500 FE/t.

⚙️ Sided Automation
The Advanced Empowerer features full sided capability integration for hoppers, pipes, and conveyor systems:
- Top & Sides: Allows inserting items into the 5 input slots (slot 2: Center base, slots 0, 1, 3, 4: Modifiers).
- Bottom: Allows extracting items from the output slot (slot 5).
- Upgrades: Slots 6 & 7 are intentionally isolated from automation networks and can only be inserted or removed manually.
📦 Requirements
- Minecraft: 1.21.1
- NeoForge: 21.1.223 or higher
- Actually Additions: 1.3.1 or higher
- Java: 21 or higher
- JEI (Just Enough Items) (Optional - Recommended for recipe integration)
🔧 Installation
- Install the appropriate version of NeoForge.
- Download and place the Actually Additions mod jar into your
mods folder.
- Download and place this mod jar (
advancedmachinery-*.jar) into your mods folder.
- Launch the game or start your server!
🌐 Client/Server Behavior
- Server: Required. Handles all energy logic, recipe validations, crafting operations, inventory interactions, and sided wrappers.
- Client: Required. Renders the custom GUI screen, displays tooltip values, and integrates with JEI.
🤝 Compatibility & Modpack Notes
- Designed to work alongside any standard NeoForge modpack.
- Dynamically supports all custom recipes loaded by modpacks that register standard Actually Additions
EmpowererRecipe types.
- Fully compatible with JEI's auto-transfer (the "+" button) to quickly load recipes into the input slots.
- Modpack creators are free to distribute this mod in their modpacks.
❗ Known Limitations
- Automation pipes cannot insert or extract Upgrade Items (this must be performed manually by the player).
- All modifier slots required for a recipe must be populated to begin crafting; partial setups will not consume energy or progress.
🧰 Troubleshooting
The machine is not processing!
- Ensure the base item is located in the center input slot (slot 2) and all required modifiers are placed in the surrounding slots.
- Verify the block is connected to power and has sufficient FE.
- Check JEI to ensure the items inserted form a valid Empowerer recipe.
- Make sure the output slot is not full.
Power runs out too quickly!
- Speed Upgrades increase energy consumption exponentially. Balance this by installing Energy Upgrades, which increase the buffer capacity and reduce FE/t usage.
❓ FAQ
Is this compatible with custom recipes?
Yes! Any custom recipes added via datapacks or other addons that utilize Actually Additions' empowering recipe registry are automatically supported.
Can I automate this block with hoppers?
Yes. Feed ingredients into the top or sides of the block and extract the finished product from the bottom face.
Can I use this in my modpack?
Absolutely. The mod is released under the MIT License and is fully modpack-friendly.
