# Actions & Stuff — Outline

A smooth, customizable glow outline around the items you actually care about. Spot your enchanted gear at a glance — in your hand, on the ground, in item frames, or held by other players in third-person view. Works with or without shader packs, and on any modded setup.

## Features

- **Smart targeting**: outlines enchanted items by default (vanilla and modded enchantments alike).

- **Full modded support**: works seamlessly with items from any other mod. Modded swords, tools, armor, and custom enchantments all get the outline treatment automatically.

- **Universal coverage**: held items (first-person and third-person), dropped items on the ground, items inside item frames, and items held by other players are all outlined.
- **Distance-adaptive thickness**: held items get a bold, prominent ring, while distant items get a subtle, thin edge. No visual clutter even with lots of enchanted items on screen.
- **HSV color picker**: pick any color you want, with a live preview, directly in-game.

- **Chameleon mode**: outline color is automatically derived from the item's dominant texture color. Each item gets its own matching glow, including modded items with custom textures.

- **Bloom halo**: optional additive halo for a more vibrant, neon look. Intensity slider goes from subtle to wild.
- **Proper occlusion**: outlines do not show through walls, and do not bleed through your own player body in third-person.
- **Toggle keybind**: press **K** (rebindable) to instantly turn the effect on or off.!

- **Persistent config**: your settings are saved between sessions.

## Shader Pack Compatibility

Fully tested with **Iris** and **Oculus**. The outline pipeline runs on its own dedicated framebuffer and composites cleanly on top of the shader pack's final output. No flicker, no Z-fighting, no broken effects.

## Mod Compatibility

Designed to be a good citizen in any modpack. Hooks are minimal and non-invasive:

- Works with any mod that adds items, tools, weapons, armor, or enchantments. Modded items receive the outline exactly like vanilla ones.
- Works alongside other rendering mods, ambient effect mods, and visual overhaul mods without conflict.
- Client-side only, no shared state with servers, no protocol changes.
- No known conflicts. Drop it in any modpack and it just works.

## Performance

The mod runs a lightweight screen-space pipeline (custom framebuffer plus separable horizontal and vertical dilation passes). It only processes the screen area covered by outlined items, so the cost stays negligible even with many items visible at once.
