Curse Maven Snippet
What's new
AcroWield 1.9.0 - Projectile Deflection Update
NEW FEATURES
"Telegraph" Sound for Incoming Arrows (disabled by default)
Arrows fired from bows and crossbows have very little wind-up and make no sound until the moment they are released, which makes them very hard to parry (deflect). To help with this, you can now enable a "telegraph" sound that plays just before an enemy fires. This makes arrows easier to dodge and deflect. Use it as a cue to time your parry.
This feature is controlled by the new "enableProjectileWarningSound" option in the config. It is false (off) by default. Set it to true if you want to use it.
When the Telegraph Sound plays:
- "enableProjectileWarningSound" is set to true in the config.
- An enemy such as a skeleton, a pillager, or a piglin holding a crossbow is targeting you, and you are looking at that enemy. It will not play for enemies targeting someone else, or for enemies you are not looking at.
- If you look at the enemy a little late, the sound plays the moment you look at it (as long as it has not fired yet).
How to enable the Telegraph Sound (CurseForge app):
- Launch Minecraft with AcroWield 1.9.0 installed at least once, then close the game.(The config file is created the first time the game starts.)
- Open the CurseForge app and click the "Minecraft" tab.
- Find the profile that has AcroWield installed and open it.
- Click the "..." (three dots) button on the profile and choose "Open Folder".
- In the folder that opens, double-click the "config" folder.
- Open "acrowield.json" with Notepad (right-click the file, then choose"Open with" > "Notepad"). Any text editor will work.
- Find the following line and change "false" to "true":
"enableProjectileWarningSound": false,
->
"enableProjectileWarningSound": true,
Be careful not to delete the quotation marks (") or the comma (,) at the end of the line. - Save the file (Ctrl + S) and start the game. The Telegraph Sound is now enabled.
Notes: On Windows, the profile folder is usually located at
C:\Users\(your user name)\curseforge\minecraft\Instances\(profile name)\
Make sure the game is closed while you edit the file. If you edit it while the game is running,
your changes may be overwritten when the game exits.
If you use a launcher other than CurseForge, open the "config" folder inside the game folder
(for example, ".minecraft") and edit "acrowield.json" in the same way.
IMPROVEMENTS
Projectiles can now be deflected while holding any item
Previously, you could only deflect enemy projectiles while holding certain weapons. Now, just like ghast fireballs, you can deflect projectiles no matter what you are holding, or even with empty hands, as long as you get the timing right. Weapons added by other mods work too, so you can deflect enemy attacks without any problem. Whether deflection is available is controlled by the "enableProjectileDeflection" setting in acrowield.json.
BUG FIXES
- Fixed being unable to make a wolf sit or stand with right-click while holding certain items.
- Fixed several other minor bugs.
TECHNICAL CHANGES
- Migrated from Kotlin to Java only.
- Fabric Language Kotlin is no longer required, so AcroWield now runs without it. You can remove it if no other mod needs it.
