What if completing achievements was the only way to unlock your world?
Imagine starting a brand-new Minecraft survival world, but instead of having an entire world to explore, you are restricted to a tiny 1×1 area.
No exploring distant forests. No travelling across mountains. No freely exploring caves outside your territory.
Your world is limited by the World Border, and the only way to make it bigger is by completing Minecraft advancements!
Achievements Expand Your World turns normal Minecraft survival into a completely different progression challenge. Every advancement you complete brings you closer to unlocking more of your world.
🌎 How Does It Work?
When you first enter your world, your playable area is extremely small. You must use the resources available inside your unlocked territory and complete advancements to earn expansion points.
As you progress, your World Border gradually expands, allowing you to explore newly unlocked areas, discover resources, find structures, and continue your survival journey.
The expansion follows a progressive pattern:
1×1 → 3×3 → 5×5 → 7×7 → 9×9 → And beyond!
The more advancements you complete, the larger your world becomes.
🏆 Advancement Rewards
Not every advancement is worth the same amount of points. More difficult and special advancements reward you with more points.
- Normal Task Advancements: Earn 1 point.
- Goal Advancements: Earn 10 points.
- Challenge Advancements: Earn 50 points.
- Hidden Advancements: Earn 100 points.
Hidden advancements give the highest reward, making secret discoveries especially valuable.
⚡ Progressive World Expansion
Your world doesn't unlock all at once. Every time you earn enough points, your territory expands.
The World Border uses a smooth 2-second expansion animation, so you can actually watch your playable area grow.
Newly unlocked areas reveal the existing Minecraft terrain. Your world isn't replaced with a custom flat map or regenerated whenever you expand.
👥 Multiplayer Support

The mod supports shared progression, meaning players work together towards expanding the same world.
Every player's advancement progress contributes to the shared expansion system. Complete advancements, collect points, and unlock more territory together.
📊 Track Your Progress
Keep track of your current expansion progress using the status command:
"/aew status"
Check your current world size and progression without guessing how close you are to the next expansion.
🎯 Your Challenge
Start with almost nothing. Complete advancements, earn rewards, unlock new territory, and gradually turn your tiny survival area into a massive Minecraft world.
