Abyssal Planet 0.2.6 — Abyss Atmosphere & Decay Water Update
Abyssal Atmosphere
- Restored the near-black visual identity of the Abyssal Planet dimension.
- Deep Abyssal now features an almost completely black underwater atmosphere.
- Abyssal Valley retains a subtle deep blue-black identity without appearing bright blue.
- Decay Road and Decay Valley now use darker red-black atmospheric tones.
- Fixed the bright blue underwater rendering that could appear when leaving the first biome.
- Prevented vanilla-looking blue fog from taking over at biome transitions.
- Improved the contrast between the dark environment and bioluminescent creatures, plants and environmental blocks.
- Night Vision no longer overrides the intended near-black abyssal fog rendering.
- Removed the Darkness effect previously applied when entering the dimension.
- The abyssal darkness is now produced visually through water and fog rendering rather than a permanent gameplay debuff.
Environmental Fixes
- Fixed several abyssal plants and corals appearing above the terrain.
- Added properly grounded models for the affected waving abyssal grass variants.
- Added properly grounded models for luminous coral variants.
- Improved visual contact between environmental plants and the blocks supporting them.
Decay Water
- Water collected with a bucket in Decay Road now becomes Red Abyssal Water.
- Water collected with a bucket in Decay Valley now also becomes Red Abyssal Water.
- Red Abyssal Water permanently retains its crimson surface tint when placed.
- The fluid keeps its Decay identity even when transported outside its original biome.
- Added a dedicated dark crimson underwater fog color for Red Abyssal Water.
- Regular water and water collected outside Decay biomes remain unchanged.
Compatibility and Stability
- No external shader or graphical dependency is required.
- Existing bioluminescence, Decay storms, boss fog and atmospheric settings remain supported.
- No intentional combat or gameplay balance changes were introduced.
- Added automated validation for Decay biome bucket collection and persistent fluid coloring.
- Successfully validated with 127 automated tests.
- Successfully compiled for Minecraft 1.21.1 and NeoForge 21.1.244.
