The mod is inspired by "Made in Abyss" manga and anime series.
About
This mod adds a way to set up the abyss layers / abyss curse mechanic. Abyss layers are vertical sections (e.g. from y=0 to y=64) of a dimension that punish player for ascending (or descending depending on the setup).
Whenever the player ascends more than a specified number of blocks in each layer they will suffer the effects of a curse (curses may apply different vanilla or modded effects to the player).
Configuration
Whenever you open a Minecraft world whith this mod installed, it will create a file named abyss_curse_config.json in {Modpack Folder}/config folder.
You can add layers for each dimension (e.g. vanilla dimensions like "minecraft:overworld", "minecraft:the_nether" or modded dimensions like "twilightforest:twilight_forest", etc.). You can find dimension names by searching online or you can try autocompleting the /execute in command.
In every dimension layers start at a specified y coordinate and grow upwards. You can configure the height of each layer, and a number of blocks the player may ascend (descend) before suffering the effects of the curse of this layer. You may also specify the effects of the curse (try autocompleting the /effect command in game to get the available effect names or use minecraft / mod wikis).
