Snow! Real Avalanche! is an unofficial addon for Snow! Real Magic!, introducing dynamic snow physics, natural snowdrifts, environmental destruction, and dangerous avalanches.

Gone are the days of snow piling into unnatural towers. Snow now reacts to its surroundings, shifting, sliding, collapsing, and settling into the landscape.

Whether you're building a cozy winter cabin, exploring snowy mountains, or trying to survive a massive blizzard, snow is no longer just decoration — it's a force of nature.

🌨️ Dynamic Snow Physics

Snow behaves like a loose, accumulating material rather than a static block.

• Natural snowdrifts: Snow spreads and settles into uneven, organic-looking formations.

• Weighted accumulation: Thicker snow becomes increasingly unstable, while thin layers remain relatively stationary.

• Gravity and sliding: Snow can spill over cliffs, slide off rooftops, and fall from treetops.

• Cascading collapses: Large accumulations can redistribute into surrounding terrain.

• Terrain filling: Valleys, trenches, holes, and depressions gradually fill with snow.

• Stable snowbanks: Once snow reaches a stable formation, it stops unnecessarily shifting.

The result is a landscape that changes naturally during and after heavy snowfall.

🏔️ Avalanches & Entity Pushing

Snow isn't the only thing that moves.

With the snowPush gamerule enabled, moving snow can push nearby players and living entities in the direction of its movement.

• Light snowfall produces gentle pushes.

• Thicker moving snow generates stronger forces.

• Multiple movements can combine into more powerful pushes.

• Falling and sliding snow can carry entities downhill or into confined spaces.

• Collapsing snowdrifts can potentially trap or bury unsuspecting adventurers.

That innocent-looking mountainside might not be as stable as you think.

Use /gamerule snowPush false to disable the pushing mechanic without disabling snow physics.

🌱 Environmental Destruction

Blizzards can now have lasting consequences.

Heavy snow accumulation and moving drifts can:

• Crush grass, vegetation, and compatible crops.

• Damage exposed farmland, reverting it to dirt.

• Cover and degrade dirt pathways.

• Bury entrances, trenches, and outdoor structures.

Protecting your crops, maintaining paths, and designing buildings around heavy snowfall become meaningful parts of surviving winter.

🧊 Frozen Water & Ice Interaction

Snow also interacts with frozen waterways.

• Snow can freeze exposed surface water into ice.

• Existing ice can transform into blue ice when snow attempts to settle onto it.

• Snow can accumulate on compatible frozen surfaces instead of disappearing at shorelines.

• Lakes, rivers, and frozen beaches can gradually become covered in natural snowdrifts.

These interactions help create continuous, snow-covered winter landscapes.

A heavy blizzard can reshape the world around your home.

Steep roofs, sheltered entrances, covered walkways, protected farms, and snow barriers are no longer just aesthetic choices.

They can help protect your builds from accumulating snow.

Snow! Real Avalanche! is designed to work alongside Snow! Real Magic!, extending its existing snowfall and gravity systems rather than replacing them.

⚠️ Important Information

This mod actively modifies the environment. Snow can accumulate, move, and affect nearby blocks and entities.

Back up important worlds before installation, especially while the mod is in its alpha development stage.

Large snowstorms and extensive snow accumulation may also increase server processing requirements.
