Simple Market

Simple Market

A server-side Fabric mod that adds player commerce on top of Simple Economy: a GUI shop, a quick-sell command, and a paginated auction house. Requires Simple Economy to be installed alongside it — this mod doesn't manage its own currency, it spends and earns the one Simple Economy tracks.

Features

Shop A chest-style GUI listing a configurable catalog of items with buy and sell prices. Left-click to buy one, right-click to sell one straight from your inventory.

Quick sell Sell your held item or your entire inventory's worth of sellable items in one command, using the shop's price list.

Auction house List an item at a price you set; other players can browse and buy it, even if you're offline when it sells — money and item both move automatically. A paginated GUI browses all active listings or just your own, and clicking your own listing cancels it and returns the item instead of charging you.

Commands

Command Who Description
/shop Everyone Open the shop GUI
/sell hand Everyone Sell the item stack in your hand
/sell all Everyone Sell every sellable item in your inventory
/ah Everyone Browse all active auction listings
/ah sell <price> Everyone List your held item at that price
/ah list Everyone Browse just your own listings

Every command's permission tier is configurable — see Configuration below.

Configuration

Stored in config/simplemarket.json, created automatically on first run.

  • shopCatalog — item ID → buy/sell price. Add, remove, or reprice items freely; an item with no entry simply can't be bought, sold, or shown in /shop. Ships with a starter catalog of ~24 common ores, blocks, and food items.
  • maxListingsPerPlayer — cap on a single player's simultaneous active auction listings (default 10), to keep /ah browsable.
  • commandPermissions — per-command tier: everyone, moderators, gamemasters, admins, or owners.

Known limitation

Auction listings only preserve an item's type and stack count — enchantments, custom names, and other item data are not carried through a listing. Listing an enchanted or named item will strip that extra data when it's picked back up. A full-fidelity version would need to serialize the entire item (not just its type), which is a larger feature for a future update.

Requirements

  • Minecraft 1.21.11
  • Fabric Loader ≥ 0.18.0
  • Fabric API
  • Simple Economy (this mod depends on it directly — the server won't start without both installed)
  • Java 21+
