Verdant QoL is a small, zero-script data pack for players who build with nature. It fills the gaps vanilla leaves open: the dirt variants you can never find when you need them, and the plank grid you have to click through every time you want a fence.
Everything is vanilla JSON recipes. No new blocks, no new items, no mod loader, no tick cost. It works in single-player, on a server, and inside any modpack.
Soil & grass
- Dirt + Wheat Seeds -> Grass Block
- Dirt + Gravel -> 2x Coarse Dirt
- Dirt + Vine -> Moss Block
- Dirt + Brown Mushroom -> Podzol
- Dirt + Red Mushroom -> Mycelium
- Dirt + Hanging Roots -> Rooted Dirt
Wood
Put any log in a stonecutter and cut stairs, slabs or fences directly. All eight wood types are supported through vanilla log tags.
Fuel
Bamboo Block -> Charcoal. Renewable fuel for bamboo farms.
Why so small?
Because a data pack should not cost you frames. The whole pack is about 6 KB. If a recipe ever conflicts with your modpack, delete that one JSON file and the rest keeps working.
Compatibility
Built for 1.21.1, declares support for 1.20.5 - 1.21.1. Pair it with nature and building mods - it was written to sit next to MoreGrass.
