Description
Remnants of a Lost Age
Remnants of a Lost Age ## is a progression-focused adventure datapack for Minecraft Java Edition 26.1, built around exploration, ancient ruins, forgotten history, challenging bosses, and powerful relics.
Explore the Overworld and discover remnants of a civilization that disappeared long ago. Ruins appear in different states of decay, from partially preserved structures to ancient remains almost completely consumed by time.
Exploration & Discoveries
The datapack introduces 33 different ruin archetypes, each with 3 unique degradation stages, creating 99 discoverable ruin variants across the world.
Every unique variant you discover contributes to your personal Expedition Progress.
As your discoveries increase, new threats are revealed:
15 Discoveries — The Warden of Ages
30 Discoveries — The Fossil
40 Discoveries + the first two bosses defeated — The Echo
Boss locations are not simply given to you from the beginning. You must explore, progress, and uncover them naturally.
Three Ancient Bosses
Hidden underground are three unique boss complexes, each containing its own rooms, encounters, atmosphere, mechanics, and final arena.
The Warden of Ages is a relentless ancient warrior capable of powerful temporal attacks.
The Fossil is a massive adaptive creature that pressures the player with brutal close-range attacks and battlefield control.
The Echo is the final threat — a dangerous entity waiting at the end of the expedition.
Each boss is designed to be challenging in Survival rather than simply being a stronger vanilla mob. Preparing equipment, food, enchantments, potions, and other supplies is strongly recommended.
Unique Relics
Defeating the bosses rewards powerful relics with abilities unavailable through normal Minecraft progression.
Hourglass of Ages
Marks your current position and returns you to it after a short delay.
Fossil Aegis
Grants Resistance V for one minute, followed by a long cooldown.
Heart of the Echo
Destroys a large area of blocks at the location you are looking at while preserving protected blocks.
Relics carried directly by a player are also protected from being permanently lost on death.
Ancient Defenders
Ruins are not always abandoned.
Exploring them may awaken Ancient Defenders with different equipment, combat styles, and roles. Boss complexes contain larger encounters before the player reaches the final arena.
History Fragments
There are 50 collectible History Fragments scattered throughout the datapack.
They tell the story of the lost civilization across several eras and can be discovered in ancient loot or carried by certain defenders.
History Fragments are completely optional and do not block progression.

Progress is tracked individually for each player.
Designed for Survival
Remnants of a Lost Age is intended to feel like an expansion of vanilla Minecraft rather than a separate game.
Structures are integrated into the Overworld, loot follows natural progression, bosses require preparation, and the strongest rewards must be earned through exploration and combat.
The datapack does not require a resource pack to play.
Created for the CurseForge ModJam 2026 — Echoes of the Past.
