Random Dungeons — Version 1.0

Bring more life to your Minecraft world with dynamic world events!

Random Dungeons is a datapack that periodically generates a temporary dungeon somewhere in your world. Players receive a global notification and the dungeon's coordinates, giving everyone the opportunity to race toward the event and claim the rewards.

This datapack is designed for both singleplayer and multiplayer worlds and focuses on making exploration feel more exciting and rewarding.

Features

Dynamic world events

A temporary dungeon appears automatically every 2 in-game days.
The dungeon spawns 400–1200 blocks away from a randomly selected player.
Every player receives a notification and the dungeon coordinates.

Three unique encounters

Each event randomly chooses one of three enemy groups:

🧟 Zombie Horde
🏹 Ancient Skeleton Guardians
⚔️ Pillager Raiders

Every encounter has its own:

custom enemy names;
enchanted equipment;
difficulty;
chat messages and atmosphere.

Challenging combat

The enemies are intentionally much stronger than normal Minecraft mobs.

Each encounter contains a different number of enemies:

10 Zombies
6 Skeletons
3–4 Pillagers

All event mobs are highlighted, making it easy to locate every remaining enemy during battle.

Temporary dungeon

Dungeon size: 7 × 16 × 7
A treasure chest is located at the top of the tower.
The dungeon automatically clears obstacles that interfere with its generation.

Reward system

After defeating every enemy:

a 2-minute countdown begins;
the Boss Bar changes into a timer;
players have a limited amount of time to loot the tower.

The loot table contains both common and extremely rare rewards.

Very rare rewards include items such as:

Elytra
Shulker Shell
Netherite Scrap

Most valuable rewards have intentionally very low drop chances.

Automatic world restoration

When the timer expires:

the dungeon disappears;
the terrain is restored to its original state;
blocks replaced during generation return exactly as they were before the event.

This keeps the world clean without leaving permanent damage behind.

Multiplayer

The event is shared by every player on the server.

Everyone receives the same notification and travels to the same dungeon.

The first players to defeat the enemies and claim the treasure earn the rewards.
