Weight turns your inventory into something you actually have to manage. Every item has a weight value, your full inventory (hotbar, main inventory, armor, offhand) is scanned every tick, and the total — weight × quantity — determines your Slowness level (I to IV).
Choose your difficulty — download only one:
inventory_weight_normal — the balanced default. A complete loadout (full armor, tools, a sword, a bow, a stack of blocks, a bucket, a stack of food) tops out at Slowness II, never further.
inventory_weight_easy — armor, tools, and weapons weigh almost nothing regardless of material. A fully-geared character carrying a stack of blocks, food, and a bucket won't feel any penalty at all — only genuinely overloading your inventory does.
inventory_weight_hard — gear and materials weigh noticeably more. The same complete loadout already reaches Slowness III — built for players who want inventory weight to really matter.
Features
- Full inventory scan every tick: hotbar, main inventory, armor slots, and offhand.
- Weight scales with stack size — a full stack weighs much more than a single item.
- Creative and Spectator players are never affected.
- No config, no commands — just install the version that matches how punishing you want it to be.
- Fully data-driven through item tags (
data/weight/tags/item/tier_1.json → tier_10.json) — easy to reclassify any item yourself.
Compatibility
- Minecraft 1.21.1 (data pack format 48)
- Vanilla-only, no mods required
- The 3 versions are mutually exclusive — only install one at a time (they share the same namespace)
Notes
- Item classification is a first pass — if something feels out of place, let me know and I'll adjust.
