enchant it for me
A datapack for Minecraft Java Edition 1.21.11 where walking makes your gear stronger.

As you walk, your held weapon or tool and your worn armor are given random GOOD enchantments. How strong they are depends on your XP level, and at level 10 they reach level 255.

HOW IT WORKS
Every block you walk (or sprint), the pack adds one random enchantment to the item in your hand and to each piece of armor you wear. Only helpful enchantments are used. There are no curses.

XP LEVELS
- Below level 1: nothing happens
- Level 1-4: every enchantment is at its normal maximum level
- Level 5-9: every enchantment is at level 50 (you can change this)
- Level 10 and up: every enchantment is at level 255

WORKS ON
- Swords, axes, pickaxes, shovels and hoes
- Maces (Density, Breach, Wind Burst and more)
- Spears (Lunge, Sharpness, Smite, Bane of Arthropods and more)
- Bows, crossbows, tridents and fishing rods
- Shields (offhand) and elytra
- All armor: helmets, chestplates, leggings and boots

Each item only gets enchantments that fit it, for example Sharpness on swords and Protection on armor.

LEFT OUT ON PURPOSE
- Curses (Curse of Binding, Curse of Vanishing)
- Frost Walker
- Silk Touch

COMMANDS (cheats or operator permissions needed)
/function kings:interval {cm:100}  - distance walked between enchants (100 = every block)
/function kings:tier2 {level:50}    - the enchantment level used at XP level 5-9
/function kings:tiers_off           - always level 255, no matter your XP
/function kings:tiers_on            - use XP levels again

INSTALLATION
1. Download EnchantmentKings.zip and do not unzip it.
2. Put it in saves/<your world>/datapacks/
3. Open the world (or run /reload if it is already open).
4. Get some XP, hold a weapon and walk. You can test with /xp set @s 10 levels

VERSION
- Minecraft Java Edition 1.21.11 only (data pack format 94.1)
- Works on vanilla and on Fabric
- Not for Bedrock Edition
- Will not load on 1.21.10 or older, and I have not tested newer versions

NOTES
- Fortune, Looting and similar enchantments at level 255 can cause huge item drops and lag.
- Armor and items you already own keep their old enchantments, and the pack changes the ones it picks.
- Back up your world before using it.
