Tired of flint being a useless by-product of every machine you build? Want to do something more than toss it all into lava? Then this is the datapack for you!
Waste no Flint adds several recipes into the game using, you guessed it, flint. Most recipes are focused on making building blocks renewable and mass-producable via create factories. This also means that copper, zinc, and netherrack can be automated in your factory, though it will take a few steps to do it! Running a drilling machine will always get you your materials faster, but who wants to spend time drilling in the late game?
While this pack is designed for Create, it supports vanilla and a few other mods as well. In vanilla, it provides recipes for renewable deepslate, tuff, calcite, gravel, sand, netherrack, and endstone.
This pack is designed for Neoforge! Recipes may not load correctly with other launchers (for now)!
Currently Supported Mods:
- Create
- Create: New Age
- Quark
- Regions Unexplored
If there's a mod you'd like to see added, let me know! I can't promise to add every suggestion, but I'll be focused on mods that fit the following criteria:
- The mod is compatible with a recent version of Create on Neoforge.
- The mod has common, but non-renewable naturally generated blocks.
- The mod has a large, active player base with many downloads.
All that being said, the following mods are already on my radar, so no need to request them:
- Biomes o' Plenty
FAQ (I assume, no one's asked me anything)
Q: Can you add support for X mod? A: See above.
Q: Could you change/add X recipe? A: It's pretty easy to add/modify recipe files. Learn something new today!
Q: Can you add support for X version/X modloader/Modrinth? A: As a datapack, this will work in most game version, even if it says it won't. You can manually stick it in and it will probably be fine. As for modloaders, I want to make a fabric version soon, same goes for other hosting sites. We get there when we get there. If you have experience with datapacks, feel free to brute force the recipes into your pack if you feel so inclined.
Q: Can I add this to a modpack? A: Of course you're free to include in any packs so long as credit is given (works automatically through Curseforge). I hope you enjoy!
Q: Your recipes aren't geologically accurate and don't make a lot of sense in context of the gme either! A: Nerd.
