Every player decides for themselves: all recipes unlocked or normal Vanilla progress. No operator rights and no mod needed – just one command.
Great for servers where some players want to see every recipe and others want to discover them the normal way.
Commands (for every player)
/trigger recipes_all– unlock all recipes/trigger recipes_vanilla– back to Vanilla, with your real progress/trigger recipes_status– show the current mode
How it works
- New players start in Vanilla mode.
- All: your real recipe progress is remembered, then everything is unlocked. In the background the game keeps track of the recipes you would have earned normally.
- Vanilla: you get your remembered progress back, plus everything you would have earned in the meantime.
- Switch back and forth as often as you like. Spam protection: after a switch, the next one waits 3 seconds.
- In "All" mode, new recipes (other datapacks, updates) are added automatically after rejoining, a restart or
/reload. - Advancements, items and builds are never changed.
- After a switch, the mode is shown above the hotbar for a few seconds. Later visits show nothing.
Optional: client mod
With the mod Recipe Book Refined (Fabric) you get a Vanilla / All switch right in its settings instead of typing commands. The mod is not needed – the datapack works on its own, for every player.
Installation
Put the ZIP (do not unpack it) into <world>/datapacks/ – on a server world/datapacks/ – then /reload or restart.
Update: remove the old ZIP, add the new one, /reload. Never keep two versions. Your mode and remembered recipes are kept.
Uninstall: run /function recipes_toggle:uninstall, wait for the "Cleaned up" message, then remove the ZIP. Players online in "All" mode get their real progress back; players offline at that moment keep all recipes.
For server admins
Each /trigger shows up as a grey line in the chat of other operators and in the server log (normal Minecraft behaviour). Operators with the mod Recipe Book Refined don't see these lines. Otherwise:
/gamerule log_admin_commands false– no lines in the server log/gamerule send_command_feedback false– no lines in the chat, but also hides all other command feedback
Limits
- Recipes from other datapacks that you earn while in "All" mode are not recognised when switching back.
- Switching takes up to 1 second.
Versions
Currently for Minecraft Java 26.3. Older versions on request.
