VanillaRecipes is a datapack for 1.16.4/1.16.5 that brings/adds some recipes back
Download the latest version of the datapack from the files tab
Go to your minecraft directory
On Windows %appdata/.minecraft/
On Linux ~/.minecraft
Open the saves directory
Choose the world you want the datapack to be installed in
Open the "datapacks" folder
Put the datapack in there
Start the game and open the world
Done
