FULL LIST OF CHANGES
- The Luminous Caves biome adds Glow Berries to the Nether, supplying players with another food source. They're also made of blackstone, making the material much easier to obtain.
- The Crystal Wastes biome features calcite pillars/spikes and amethyst. Zombified Piglins won't spawn there.
- The Dry Reefs are akin to the Soul Sand Valley. They're made of red sand and red sandstone, and are packed with dead coral, dead trees, and fossils.
- The Fungal Forest includes a ton of mushrooms. Piglins won't spawn there, but Witches have a very small chance to.
- Nether Shipwrecks add another way to get iron, but it's not incredibly reliable, to say the least-- especially since you'll have to be fireproof to get it without it being a hassle.
- Respawn Anchors can be crafted more easily, making them less of a chore to get. 8 Blackstone + 1 Gold Ingot.
- Added Basalt, Calcite, Sandstone, and Red Sandstone to the list of stone crafting/tool materials, meaning that you can make tools out of them.
- You can make Striders jump while riding them in lava, so long as you have Warped Fungus on a Stick.
- Quartz Blocks can be crafted back into Quartz.
- Gilded Blackstone can be smelted into 1 golden nugget.
- If you're wearing full gold armor, upon being ignited, gain fire resistance for 5 seconds. It's like a turtle helmet, but for fire!
- New advancements for finding the new biomes!
- Blazeborn Modified!
BLAZEBORN 🔴🔴🔴
"Late descendants of the Blaze, the Blazeborn are naturally immune to the perils of the Nether."
LDE Nether's Blazeborn features an array of changes, meant to bring it more in-line with the design philosophies behind this data pack by adding incentive to remain in the Nether.
- Fire Immunity: You are immune to all types of fire damage.
- Burning Wrath: When on fire, you deal additional damage with your attacks.
- Dive Into Flame: You can swim through lava.
- Hotblooded: Due to your hot body, venoms burn up, making you immune to poison, hunger, and nausea status effects.
- Nether Spawn: You spawn in the Nether.
- Sleepless: You cannot rest.
- Hydrophobia: You receive damage over time while in contact with water.
HELLBENT 🔴🔴🔴
"Agile and shrewd, the Hellbent are masters at traversing the Nether's dangerous terrain."
The Hellbent are designed to excel avoiding the dangers of the Nether, able to avoid fall damage and tremendous seas of lava (with a little bit of resourcefulness and practice).
- Glide: You can glide for up to 7 seconds at a time before needing to land again.
- Gift of the Winds: Every 16 seconds, you can launch yourself forwards.
- Ceiling Crawl: You can climb across the underside of blocks.
- Nether Spawn: You spawn in the Nether.
- Sleepless: You cannot rest.
- Hydrophobia: You receive damage over time while in contact with water.
PHANTASMAL 🔴🔴🔴
"The Phantasmal are ghastly specters, struggling to remain corporeal."
The Phantasmal are designed to excel at finding the structures and biomes strewn about to Nether, in order to more easily attain important resources. Its low health and limited ability to interact with the world, however, forces you to be increasingly resourceful, and plan your time carefully.
- Spectral Form: Every 40 seconds, you can exit Spectral Form, entering Human Form for 30 seconds.
- Specter: While Spectral, you are invisible, invulnerable, fall slower, can swim through the air, and can phase through blocks. Your current position is indicated by a ghastly cloud.
- Immaterial: While Spectral, you cannot do anything. You can still use blocks with inventories.
- Nether Spawn: You spawn in the Nether.
- Sleepless: You cannot rest.
- Ethereal: You have 4 less hearts of health.
FAQ:
- "How do I install this mod?" - LDE Nether isn't actually a mod-- it's a data pack! Data packs are stored locally within your world folder, and can be installed by dropping it into the datapacks folder. There's a whole list of advantages attached to using a data pack instead of an addon mod, but they're out-of-scope for this description. If you're curious, I suggest you join the Origins Discord server and ask, or just look it up yourself!
- "Does this work with other biome data packs/biome mods?" - While data pack biome generation is not natively compatible with mods or other data packs, it can be made to work with them by installing BCLib.
- "Why is X so overpowered/underpowered?!" - LDE Nether is still very new-- so balance might be a bit off! Feedback is greatly welcome!
- "Where can I give feedback or ask questions?" - Well, aside from the CurseForge comments, I have a Discord server now!
