WoolPearl
A lightweight Paper plugin that turns wool into a vertical teleport network.
Throw an ender pearl at a wool block to activate a network for that colour. Then stand on matching wool and jump to go up or crouch to go down.
No client mod is needed.
Quick Start
- Throw an ender pearl at a wool block. The pearl won't teleport you; it activates a network for that wool colour instead.
- Stand on wool of the same colour.
- Jump to teleport to the nearest matching wool above you.
- Crouch to teleport to the nearest matching wool below you.
Tip: Stack wool of one colour in a column with a gap of at least two blocks above each one and you have an instant elevator.
Features
- Colour-based networks: Each wool colour works on its own. Red wool only takes you to red wool.
- Simple controls: Jump to go up, crouch to go down.
- Stays in your column: Teleports keep your X and Z position.
- Multiple networks: Each player can have several networks active at once, up to a configurable limit.
- Public networks: Networks can be shared so every player can use them.
- Safe destinations: You only land where there are two open blocks above the wool.
- Anchor protection: If the wool block the pearl hit is broken, burned, blown up or moved by a piston, that network shuts off.
- Timed or permanent: Networks can expire after a few seconds, or stay until removed and survive restarts.
- Quiet warnings: The "no safe matching wool" warning shows at most once every 5 seconds per player.
How It Works
Activating a network
- Hitting wool with an ender pearl creates a network for that colour.
- The wool block you hit is the network's anchor. The network lasts only as long as the anchor stays in place.
- Hitting the anchor of one of your own networks again restarts its timer.
- Each wool block can anchor only one network. If another player already uses it, pick a different block.
- If you go over your network limit, your oldest network is removed automatically.
Teleporting
- You must be standing on wool of a colour you have an active network for. This can be your own network or a public one.
- WoolPearl searches straight up or down in your column for the nearest matching wool with two open blocks above it.
- If nothing suitable is found, you'll see a warning.
- Networks only work in the world their anchor is in.
When a network ends
A network is removed when:
- its timer runs out, if timed networks are enabled
- its anchor wool is broken, burned, exploded or pushed by a piston
- its owner logs out, if timed networks are enabled
- its owner removes it with
/wp remove - the owner creates a new network beyond their limit, which removes the oldest one
