Here you see that obsidian can be placed next to the portal from, but not next to a portal block; however other blocks can be placed by the portal blocks

Here you can see that the attempted lava was not placed

Here you can see that lava will not flow near a portal

Here, you see that no block can placed near the portal because a player is in the portal

Here you can see a potion of harming has not hurt the player

Here you can see melee damage being canceled

Here you can see arrow damage has been cancelled

Here you can see that the pig is poisoned, but the player is not
