Description

NightRest is a lightweight and configurable sleep plugin for Minecraft servers. It changes the usual sleep requirement so server owners can decide how many eligible players need to sleep before the night is skipped, while keeping the setup simple and easy to understand.

Instead of requiring every player to sleep, NightRest supports three sleep modes:

Single — one eligible player is enough to skip the night. Amount — a specific number of eligible players must be sleeping. Percentage — a percentage of eligible online players must be sleeping. The required number of players is calculated from the players who are currently eligible according to the plugin's settings. Servers can choose whether players are counted together across the server or separately by world.

Sleep Controls NightRest provides several options for controlling who can participate in the sleep count:

Set a minimum number of online players. Count players per world or across the server. Exclude spectators from the sleep count. Exclude specific players using a configurable permission. Limit NightRest to selected worlds with whitelist or blacklist settings. Optionally limit the plugin to the Overworld. Configure when NightRest considers it to be nighttime. Allow or disable sleeping behavior during thunderstorms. NightRest also protects against the normal vanilla night skip happening before the configured NightRest requirement is reached.

Notifications:

Sleep notifications are fully configurable. You can choose whether NightRest sends messages to chat or keeps the server silent.

Chat notifications can be:

Enabled or disabled completely. Enabled separately for sleep, skip, and test messages. Sent to everyone on the server or only players in the affected world. Delivered directly to players or through the normal Bukkit broadcast system. Messages are stored in language files so they can be customized without changing the plugin itself. Colors, multiple lines, prefixes, sounds, and placeholders are supported.

Languages NightRest includes 9 languages:

English (US), English (UK), Spanish (Argentina), Spanish (Spain), Portuguese (Brazil), German, Italian, Russian & French.

The default language is English (US), and language files can be edited to customize the plugin's messages.

Weather: NightRest can also control how rain and thunderstorms behave when the night is skipped. These settings are optional and disabled by default where appropriate, so installing the plugin does not unexpectedly change a server's weather behavior.

Administration: NightRest includes simple commands for managing and troubleshooting the plugin, including configuration reload, status information, version information, and chat testing.

Configuration changes can be reloaded without restarting the server. Compatibility:

NightRest is a server-side plugin and does not require players to install anything on their clients. It does not require any third-party plugin or external dependency.

The plugin is designed around the public Bukkit/Paper API and targets Minecraft servers using Java 17 or newer.

NightRest is intended for server owners who want a reliable and flexible sleep system without unnecessary complexity or a large collection of unrelated features.
