Giacomo's Better dye plugin

Giacomo's Better Dye Plugin is the Paper server edition of Giacomo's Better Dye.

It allows players to recolor supported vanilla blocks and mount equipment with a simple right-click while holding an ordinary dye. The plugin runs entirely on the server, so players can join with an unmodified vanilla client.

Supported blocks

• Wool and carpets
• Terracotta, including uncolored terracotta
• Concrete and concrete powder
• Glazed terracotta
• Glass and glass panes, including uncolored variants
• Shulker boxes, including uncolored shulker boxes
• Beds
• Candles, including uncolored candles
• Standing banners and wall banners

Block properties are preserved whenever possible. Shulker boxes retain their inventory and custom data, banners retain their patterns, and both halves of a bed are recolored together.

Supported entities

• Leather horse armor
• Llama and trader llama carpets
• Happy Ghast harnesses

A normal right-click replaces the color of leather horse armor. Sneak-right-clicking blends the new dye with the existing armor color, producing different shades.

Llama carpets and Happy Ghast harnesses are replaced with the selected vanilla color while preserving their item data.

Dye usage

• One dye is consumed in Survival mode
• Dyes are not consumed in Creative mode
• No dye is consumed when the target already has the selected color
• Recoloring a lit candle extinguishes it
• The offhand keeps its normal vanilla behavior

This plugin does not add custom blocks, items, textures, or resource packs. Everything uses existing vanilla content.
