DOWNSTREAM

KABOOM! This round goes to RED!

DOWNSTREAM is a gamemode inspired by the Team Fortress 2 cart push game. Players are assigned as evenly as possible onto teams upon spawning in, where they must then kill other players and push a minecart in order to achieve the goal of blowing up the other team's base.

CONFIGURATION

Configuration is simple, requiring only the co-ords of each team's spawn. The default co-ords coincide with the game's original map, which can be found in the map list below.

Gameplay

Players are restricted from breaking blocks, and are given a specific set of items on each respawn. They can use TNT to blow up sections of the map, but the tracks are fully protected. TNT is self-igniting, but cannot be placed over water, lava, or open air. Teams are balanced by adding players to the team with less whenever they join the server or are killed. Both teams attempt to push a minecart to the other end of the same track, each ending with the enemy base. The minecart can be right-clicked to gain additional TNT. The successful destruction of an enemy base will win the game, although maps must, unfortunately, be manually reset at the end of a round. Once a base is destroyed, the winning team is announced, as well as awarded immunity to sword and arrow damage and double damage. The losing team will be set to spectator mode upon death, rather than respawning.

Maps

The original map and a second version, UPSTREAM, are on my profile on curseforge. However, you can make your own maps for the game as well! If you wish, you may submit maps to me, which will then be tested and maybe posted here. The requirements for a map are:

A spawn area for each team.

A base for each team. (Must be rigged with a detector-rail activated detonation system..)

A track, with a furnace minecart in the middle. Must end in a detector rail on each end! The detector rail must be rigged to destroy the base in some way when triggered, and must have THE COLORED WOOL OF THE TEAM'S BASE UNDER IT! A detector rail with BLUE wool under it will trigger a RED victory. A detector rail with RED wool under it will trigger a BLUE victory!

A barrier of some sort to keep players in the map's playable area.

DO NOT FORGET TO INCLUDE A TEXT FILE CONTAINING THE CO-ORDS FOR EACH TEAM'S SPAWN!

WARNING: This plugin is NOT COMPATIBLE WITH ANY OTHERS!

It has no permission nodes to bypass any of the features, and will lock players into the settings of the game. There is no way short of removing the plugin to use a server normally once the plugin is installed!
