UnstableSMPDeathSound is a Paper plugin built for high-stakes SMP servers. It adds a configurable death sound, optional death punishments, nearby-only system messages, chat control, and an immortality system for special players.

It is designed for servers that want stronger death feedback without requiring any client-side mods.

Features

Play a custom sound whenever a player dies
Use modern sound keys like ENTITY.WITHER.SPAWN
Keep compatibility with legacy sound names like ENTITY_WITHER_SPAWN
Limit death sound playback to nearby players only
Restrict join, quit, and death messages to nearby players
Disable chat entirely or switch it to proximity chat
Kick or ban players on death
Mark players as immortal so lethal damage is prevented
Reload the plugin config without restarting the server
No client mod required

Configuration Highlights

Choose any Paper or Bukkit sound for player deaths
Adjust death sound volume and pitch

Set chat mode to NORMAL, DISABLED, or PROXIMITY
Configure death punishments as NONE, KICK, or BAN
Tune immortality behavior, resistance handling, damage filters, and autosave

Installation

Put the plugin jar into your server's plugins folder.
Start or restart the server.
Edit config.yml if you want to change sounds, ranges, chat rules, or death actions.
Use /unstablesmp reload after config changes.
