ComplaintBot

A simple PaperMC 1.16.5 plugin that sends player complaints directly to a Telegram chat or group.

Features

• Players can submit complaints using /shikoyat

• Complaint text and player name are automatically sent to Telegram

• Bot token and chat ID are stored in config.yml (persists across restarts)

• HTTP requests are sent asynchronously — no server lag

Commands

/add <token> <chat_id> — used by OP / admin (complaintbot.admin) — configures the Telegram bot

/shikoyat <message> — used by any player — sends a complaint to admins

Example

/add 123456789:AAExampleTokenHere -1001234567890

/shikoyat Someone is AFK-farming in spawn

Telegram receives:

New Complaint!

Player: Verot

Message: Someone is AFK-farming in spawn

How to get your Chat ID

1. Add your bot to the target group (or start a DM with it)

2. Send any message in that chat

3. Open in your browser: https://api.telegram.org/bot&lt;TOKEN&gt;/getUpdates

4. Find "chat":{"id":...} in the response — that's your chat ID (groups usually have a negative number, e.g. -1001234567890)

Permissions

complaintbot.admin — permission to use /add (default: OP)

Security Note

The bot token and chat ID are stored in plain text in plugins/ComplaintBot/config.yml. Anyone with file access to your server can read them. Keep server file access restricted to trusted admins, and revoke/regenerate the token via @BotFather if it's ever exposed.
