Changes in the Sky-High Update (4.1.0)

Released June 25, 2025

Do NOT update Custom Music Container or your custom songs will be lost!

Universal:

  • Dimension-Based Music - Includes Extra Songs is once again the default pack option
    • Although the Terrain-Based Music settings are closer to vanilla, they reduced the song variety too much to be a worthwhile default experience.
  • Added full support for Chase the Skies music across all pack options and the music player
  • Updated the music discs album to include Tears
  • Tears now plays at the same volume as Java Edition

Dimension-Based Music:

  • Chase the Skies music tracks now play interchangeably with all other overworld songs
  • Deep dark music now matches Terrain-Based Music instead of using all overworld songs
    • The atmosphere of the deep dark requires songs with a specific mood, unlike most other biomes. For the same reason, Pale Gardens will remain silent while using this resource pack.
  • Ancestry now plays only in the deep dark

Terrain-Based Music:

  • Added Chase the Skies music to the following terrain types:
    • Mountain: Lilypad
    • Cave: O's Piano
    • Forest: Below and Above, Broken Clocks
    • Calm Forest: Below and Above
    • Humid Forest: Fireflies
    • Desert: Fireflies
  • Mangrove swamps now use the Humid Forest playlist
  • Reduced silent time between songs in the deep dark due to the bug MCPE-223046

Total Music Mix:

  • Chase the Skies songs can now play in addition to the others

Music Player:

  • Added a new section and album for Chase the Skies songs
  • The Music Discs album in the music player can now play Tears

Fixes:

  • Mutated Desert biomes in old worlds will now use the desert music playlist instead of generic overworld music
  • Duration bars with 20 notches now use the correct overlay texture
  • The music player no longer becomes wider when playing at atypical aspect ratios such as ultrawide
  • The Explanation text document no longer incorrectly says calm4 was included in Java Edition Alpha v1.1.1
  • Replaced "silence" sound event with "intentionally_empty" to match Java Edition

Pack:

  • Music+ can now be used with Vibrant Visuals
  • Added "Best for ____!" notes to certain pack options to aid confused players
  • Updated contributor credits across the entire pack
    • Specified social media platform for all contributors
    • Changed certain contributor credits to match their current active social media platform
  • Updated Credits to include multiple social media links to reach AgentMindStorm
  • Removed links to AgentMindStorm's Twitter/X account, as it is no longer active
  • Added a README file which includes the Music+ website page in Markdown format
  • Updated the minimum game version required to use the pack to 1.21.90, which means this pack is no longer compatible with earlier versions
  • Changelog is now stored in Markdown format instead of plaintext inside the pack
  • Shortened subpack folder names
  • Updated documentation for version 4.1.0
  • Updated the custom tab with the latest Changelog, Credits, and Command Help
  • Changed pack UUID to be compatible with earlier versions of this pack
  • Updated pack version to 4.1.0

Notes:

  • Minecraft's background music is broken in 1.21.90. The following four issues are causing problems that I cannot fix with Music+:
    • MCPE-219051: Biome-specific music does not play correctly
    • MCPE-221350: Background music stops playing after finishing the first song
    • MCPE-222113: In-game music sometimes does not follow the player
    • MCPE-223046: Pauses between background songs are about 3 times longer than intended in-game
  • The music player is not affected by the issues mentioned above.
