Kamen Rider 555 is the 17th installment of the Kamen Rider Series, debuting as the fourth entry of the Heisei Era. The series premiered on January 26, 2003, and ended its 50-episode run on January 18, 2004.

Takumi's Lost Past

At the start of the series, Takumi Inui suffers from amnesia, later revealed to be connected to his true identity as the Wolf Orphnoch—an evolved human who awakens after death. His memory loss likely came from trauma or interference by Smart Brain.

How It All Began

Takumi Inui was just a loner—quiet, distant, and always on the move. He didn’t have a big goal or dream. One day, he crossed paths with Mari Sonoda, a strong-willed girl who had just stolen a mysterious suitcase from Smart Brain Corporation. That suitcase? It contained the Faiz Gear.

The Villains and the Conflict

Mari was being hunted by Orphnochs, evolved humans who are considered the "next stage" of humanity. They’re created by Smart Brain, the shady corporation behind the Rider Gears.

Smart Brain’s goal is to wipe out normal humans and replace them with Orphnochs. Some Orphnochs follow this plan, becoming powerful monsters. But others are unsure—they still care about human life. This creates a complex conflict, where not all “monsters” are evil, and not all “heroes” are perfect.

Kamen Rider Faiz

And when Mari was in serious danger, Takumi stepped in to protect her. Using the Faiz Gear, he transformed into Kamen Rider Faiz, surprising everyone—because the gear only works for certain people, usually Orphnochs. His ability to use it raised many questions, including his true identity.

Faiz Gear and Powers

The Faiz Gear is a high-tech Rider system developed by Smart Brain. Takumi’s main tools include:

Faiz Phone – Works as both a cellphone and a blaster weapon.

Faiz Belt – Triggers transformation when the code “5-5-5” is entered.

Faiz Pointer – Used to aim his signature finishing kick.

Faiz Shot – A knuckle-style device for close combat.

Takumi also unlocks different forms—Standard Form, Axel Form, and Blaster Form—each used in different situations.

Takumi didn’t plan to be a hero. He didn’t even want the role at first. But after seeing the threat the Orphnochs posed and how determined Mari was to fight back, he stuck around. From that point on, he became Faiz and helped protect others, even if he acted like he didn’t care.

As the story goes on, Takumi crosses paths with other riders—but not all of them are allies.
