RSS-Feed

About

The Minecraft Bedrock RSS Reader is a script that lets players access real-time news, updates, or blog feeds directly within the game. Using this tool, you can stay informed with the latest headlines from your favorite websites or Minecraft news sources, without leaving your world.

I highly recommend to check out my Github repositorie out, for the best experience and legacy versions from this plugin!

How to use?

  1. Open the menu (by sneaking and jumping at the same time, noding in spectator mode or by interacting with a stick)
  2. Select Settings
  3. Add a RSS Feed with it's URL & Have fun!

Installation

This add-on only works on a dedicated server. Other clients (consoles, phones, etc.) can join to the server after the installation.

1. Get the Add‑On

  1. Download the latest .mcpack / .mcaddon here

2. Prepare your World

  1. Double‑click the downloaded file to import it.
  2. Launch Minecraft and open (or create) your world.
  3. Go to Behavior Packs → Available and activate RSS‑Feed.
  4. Under Experiments, enable Beta APIs, then Play or Create.
  5. Close Minecraft once it’s loaded.

3. Prepare the Dedicated Server

  1. Download the latest server ZIP here
  2. Extract it to a folder and run bedrock_server.exe once (allow firewall access).
  3. When you see “Server started.”, close it.

4. Copy Your World

  1. Press Win + R, paste:
    %localappdata%\Packages\Microsoft.MinecraftUWP_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalState\games\com.mojang\minecraftWorlds
  2. Copy the most‑recently modified world folder into your server’s worlds directory.
  3. Delete the default Bedrock level folder and rename your copied folder to Bedrock level.

5. Set Up the Bedrock Dedicated Server

  1. Open config/default/permissions.json in your server folder.
  2. Replace its contents with: { "allowed_modules": [ "@minecraft/server-gametest", "@minecraft/server", "@minecraft/server-ui", "@minecraft/server-admin", "@minecraft/server-editor", "@minecraft/server-net" ] }
  3. Run bedrock_server.exe again. You should see: Experiment(s) active: gtst Hello from RSS‑Feed …

6. Connect & Play

  • Run bedrock_server.exe
  • In Minecraft, either join the LAN world automatically or add your server’s IP under Servers.
