v1.4.1

  • Java swing speed for all melee mobs — Java mobs swing at most once per second; Bedrock mobs hit you at every i-frame window (~2×/sec), which is most of why jump-crit attempts felt like guaranteed trades even with the v1.4.0 reach gate. The 20-tick attack cooldown zombies already had now applies to spiders, piglins, vindicators, hoglins, and every other reach-gated melee mob.
  • Reach-gate fix: spiders no longer get extra vertical reach while pouncing. v1.4.0's velocity compensation extended a pouncing spider's hitbox upward by its launch speed, which made it "taller" than your jump apex and erased the jump-over-the-spider protection. The sweep is now horizontal + downward only.
  • Honest note on tall mobs: zombies and other ~1.9-block mobs can still legally hit you mid-jump — your jump apex (1.25 blocks) never clears their hitbox, and that is exactly how Java works too. The mid-air fix you'll feel is vs short mobs (spiders especially) and in how much less often everything swings.
