Overview

This kitpvp is the second one I've made since 2020, and it builds upon what I learnt making the first one.

I have played a lot of kitpvp maps old and new over the years, and I have noticed the good and the bad of them.

In making this map I tried to avoid common mistakes made in other kitpvp maps, like boring unbalanced classes, such as a "ghost class" that recieves a single invisibilty potion and a diamond sword or janky classes that have an ability that seem to never work correctly.

My kitpvp plays as a continous, non round based, pvp. You just pick a class and jump into the pvp, no need to wait for a round to end to jump back into the combat.

The maps range from medium to medium-large, each map has features that can be strategically used by the classes.

Classes

- Base Six -

Two out of the 3 types of classes are currently implemented.

Right now there's no actual difference in these classes except in name alone.

The "base six" cover quite a few play styles

The Mountaineer

Stats: Def 5 Atk 5 Overall Damage reduction: 20%

Ability: Can throw a magic snowball that expands in the air, you can trap enemies inside and freeze them or use it as a versatile defense mechanism, since it's powdered snow, you can walk on it, while others can't.

The Archer

Stats: Def 5 Melee Atk 5 Ranged Atk 1-6

Ability: Has a jump pad that he can place down which gives jump boost and slow falling for a short duration, you can use this to evade attackers or to get high ground, but be careful, your pursuers can also use it!

The Knight

Stats: Def 6 Atk 6

Ability: Gets a 2 hit shield every 20 seconds

The Scavenger

Stats: Def 5.5 Atk 5

Ability: Has a piece of dried kelp, right clicking with it will give him a massive speed boost, but also give him hunger, alternatively you could just eat the kelp for food.

The Splunker

Stats: Def 5.5 Atk 4

Ability: By crouching, all players (but yourself) within a 7 block radius will have stalagmites drop from above them for a prolonged period of time.

The Sniper

Stats: Def 5.5 Atk 12

Ability: Locks your camera onto the nearest player, and also he gets speed and jump boost on a one second interval while not holding his crossbow.

"Hidden" Classes

The second type of class implemented in the game, there's a planned way to "unlock" these in the future, but right now you can find these by walking into the portal behind the giant staircase.

The Eon Bunny

Stats: Def 5 Atk 2.8-?

Ability: Can charge up a boosted jump and has increased speed, resistance, and fall damage reduction.

The Angler

Stats: Def 5.5 Atk 2

Ability: Has a magic fishing rod that can fish up pufferfish a few seconds after you cast it out.

The Cactaceae

Stats: Def 4.5 Atk 4

Ability: Has thorns on their armor and has hightened regeneration.

The Miner

Stats: Def 6 Atk 4

Ability: Can place blocks on the map, and also has a pickaxe that's able to mine them quickly.

The Counter Eod

I decided this class is too janky to remain as a class, so it will be removed next version.

Stats: Def 5.5 Atk 5

Ability: Can deploy lit tnt on the floor, amount of tnt deployed at once is determined by how long you crouched before right clicking with the breeze rod.

Six more "hidden classes" (counting the one that will replace the "counter eod class")

Ten more maps

Four "Admin Classes". These classes would act like a "boss" class, being way stronger than the average class. As a result they will have more abilities and much more complex ones at that. Only one person would be able to be an admin class at a time. The specifics about admin classes are still up in the air.

Things to know

Only 3 people can play the same class at once, currently. This map was play tested with my 2 friends, so there was never a need to let more than 3 people play a class at once.

To select a class, you must stand on the button then press it. I will be changing the buttons to pressure plates in the next version.

Apart from an addon that lets me detect if the player right or left clicked, and how much health the player has, as well as if the player crouched, and another mod that allows me to keep structure files attached to the world, this map is completly made in vanilla minecraft, no modded weapons, items etc.
