to get the cannon to work, first select the direction on the direction platform. (front is the side that the tnt is on.
After that, u need to enable tntexplodes. (/gamerule tntexplodes true)
Now u flick the lever next to the 3 barrels. and then immidiantly go to the glass platform and stay on the glas splatform untill the honey machine (cannon loader) to reach the other side.
one the honey reaches the other side, a copper light should turn on, and then u are ready to fire the cannon.
to fire the cannon you gotta walk towards the cannon and then walk towards the direction u selected to fire at. (there should be a line of snow leading there.
