Description

WEATHER is a complete dynamic weather system that makes Minecraft’s atmosphere feel alive, unpredictable, and dangerous. Weather develops regionally using simulated temperature, humidity, air pressure, dew point, wind speed, wind direction, wind shear, cloud coverage, instability, lapse rate, CAPE, rain chance, and storm potential.

The mod replaces simple flat clouds with large, detailed 3D cloud formations made from many smaller pieces. Cloud types include cirrus, stratus, cumulus, towering cumulus, cumulonimbus, storm anvils, scud clouds, wall clouds, and funnel clouds. Clouds grow, move, change shape, mature into storms, and eventually dissipate. Their colors include white, cool blue-gray, light gray, dark storm gray, peach, pink, and purple tones depending on the weather and time of day.

Cloud bases are lowered so storms feel closer to the ground, while view-based rendering only displays cloud parts that the player can currently see. Hidden cloud surfaces and clouds outside the player’s view are not rendered until the player looks toward them, improving performance without removing the size and detail of the weather system.

Weather conditions include clear skies, partly cloudy conditions, overcast skies, fog, drizzle, rain, thunderstorms, snow, sleet, hail, and blizzards. Rain and snow appear underneath the correct clouds instead of covering the entire world. Storms can produce lightning, changing precipitation intensity, stronger winds, reduced visibility, and darker cloud bases.

Powerful thunderstorms can develop rotating updrafts and mesocyclones. These storms may create wall clouds, rotating cloud bases, lowering funnels, and tornadoes. Tornadoes use different funnel shapes, including cone, wedge, stovepipe, and narrow needle-style funnels. Tornadoes move across the world, change strength, bend with storm motion, lift nearby mobs and players, damage the environment, and carry visible debris.

Tornado intensity is measured from EF0 through EF5. Tornadoes can strengthen or weaken over time, and their condensation funnels may grow downward before touching the ground. The Tornado Tracker displays the tornado’s strength, distance, direction, movement speed, current position, development phase, and estimated one-, three-, and five-minute track.

The Doppler Weather Radar provides several scanning modes, including reflectivity, velocity, echo-top height, precipitation type, rotation and severe-weather detection, lightning activity, storm lifecycle, and projected storm tracks. The radar uses live cloud locations and atmospheric conditions to display nearby storms and warning information.

The Weather Map shows regional temperature, pressure, CAPE, precipitation, cloud cover, humidity, dew point, wind speed, weather types, and synoptic weather patterns. The Forecast Station provides a three-day weather forecast using the simulated atmospheric conditions around its location.

The Wind and Storm Meter measures surface wind direction and speed, upper-level wind, wind shear, CAPE, lapse rate, storm potential, nearby tornado information, and estimated tornado lifting strength.

Severe Weather Sirens automatically detect nearby dangerous storms. They can issue severe-thunderstorm warnings, tornado watches, funnel warnings, tornado warnings, and all-clear messages. Sirens can be armed, disarmed, tested manually, and connected to the Tornado Tracker.

The Local Season Controller allows players to set spring, summer, autumn, winter, or automatic seasons within a selected area. Seasons affect temperature, humidity, snow, storms, forecasts, cloud growth, and other local weather conditions without changing the entire world.

The Settings Block lets players choose between three graphics modes. Performance Mode uses aggressive optimization and reduced cloud rendering for weaker devices. Enhanced Mode provides detailed 3D clouds without requiring Vibrant Visuals. Visual Mode provides the highest cloud detail and supports Minecraft’s Vibrant Visuals lighting system.

The mod includes the Forecast Station, Weather Map Station, Weather Settings Block, Local Season Controller, Wind and Storm Meter, Doppler Weather Radar, Severe Weather Siren, and Tornado Strength and Track Monitor, giving players a complete set of tools for observing, predicting, tracking, and surviving Minecraft’s changing weather.
