Warden Origins — Complete Player Guide

Addon: Warden Origins

1. What this addon is

Warden Origins is a Deep Dark/Warden-themed Bedrock addon built around a custom dimension, custom biomes, procedural caverns, dungeons, cities, monsters, Warden equipment, special crafting materials, and utility items.

The main progression loop is:

  1. Build and activate the custom portal.
  2. Enter The Depths (deepcav:the_depths).
  3. Explore newly generated cavern terrain and biome regions.
  4. Fight the Deep Dark mobs and collect their materials.
  5. Find special chests with loot.
  6. Craft Warden equipment, charms, hearts and utility items.
  7. Use the stronger gear and special mechanics to push farther into dangerous regions.

The addon is not just a texture pack: much of its behavior is controlled by Bedrock Script API code, including portal travel, dimension generation, spawning, Infested combat, armor abilities, tools, the Sculk Transmitter and several structure systems.

2. Installation and basic setup

Import the .mcaddon into Minecraft Bedrock normally.

The pack declares a minimum engine version of 1.26.0 and uses the Bedrock Script API, including the beta @minecraft/server and @minecraft/server-ui modules. Use a Bedrock version that supports the APIs declared by the pack.

Warden Origins contains both a Behavior Pack and Resource Pack and they are designed to work together.

3. The custom dimension: The Depths

The main world added by the addon is:

deepcav:the_depths

It is a very large, script-generated cavern dimension. Terrain is generated around explored areas rather than being one small fixed map, so exploration is the intended way to reveal more of it.

Base cavern regions

The underlying cavern generator contains six main regions:

Region Theme Typical feel
Glowshroom Grotto Mushrooms / glow flora The least monster-focused region
Sculk Hollow Sculk / Deep Dark Stalker-family danger
Crystal Cavern Crystals / stone Sculk and Shattered pressure
Emberdeep Heat / ash / volcanic materials Fire-themed hostile mobs
Frostgrotto Ice / frozen cavern Hollow-family monsters
Murkmire Dark swamp/murk cavern Mixed hostile mobs

These larger zones are what give the dimension its strongest Warden Origins identity.

4. How to enter The Depths

The custom portal uses Reinforced Deepslate as its frame.

Portal requirements

  • Frame: minecraft:reinforced_deepslate
  • Activation: Flint and Steel or Heart of the Deep
  • Minimum outside frame size: 4 × 5
  • Larger frames are supported, up to the portal controller's maximum dimension.
  • The inside must be an open area; solid blocks inside the portal space will prevent valid activation.

Light/activate the frame with the accepted activator. The custom portal block appears once the frame is recognized.

Traveling

Stand inside the custom portal for about 4 seconds. A Nausea effect is used while the travel timer is running, then the addon teleports you into The Depths.

Your return location is saved by the addon so that you can be sent back toward the place you originally entered from when returning through the custom portal.

Important

Breaking a Reinforced Deepslate frame next to the connected custom portal can deactivate/clear the portal. If a portal stops working, check that the frame is still intact and valid.

5. Exploring the dimension

The best way to experience the addon is to keep moving. The dimension uses chunk-based generation and saves generated areas, so new regions and structures appear as you explore farther.

Several special systems are intentionally uncommon. A long exploration trip is expected to be much more rewarding than staying close to your entry point.

The dimension also removes normal vanilla hostile-mob spawning and uses the addon’s custom spawning system instead. This is why the creature population feels different from a normal Overworld cave.

6. Loot

Procedural dungeons

The dungeon system defines eight dungeon themes:

  • Warren
  • Geode
  • Trials
  • Catacomb
  • Spire
  • Cinder
  • Frost
  • Mire

These are assembled from multiple structure pieces as you explore. Each theme has its own entrance, room pieces.

7. How mob spawning works

The addon has multiple spawn systems instead of one universal mob list.

Spawning is affected by the current cavern region/biome, local mob caps and the type of environment you are in. This creates distinct monster populations in different parts of the dimension.

8. Stalker family

The Stalker family is the signature Dark Sculk enemy group.

Stalker

ID: warden_evo:stalker
Health: 90 HP
Melee damage: 15 HP, plus Blindness for about 5 seconds

Stalker uses Warden-like vibration/anger mechanics and can switch between close-range combat and a sonic boom attack.

It can also spread/propagate Dark Sculk effects around kills and has special movement states such as lying low and fitting through 1 block gaps.

Fighting a Stalker

Do not assume distance makes you safe. Its ranged sonic attack gives it a way to pressure players that try to stay back. Once it is also transformed, it's speed is super fast.

Prowler

ID: warden_evo:prowler
Health: 90 HP
Melee damage: 15 HP, plus Blindness for about 5 seconds

Prowler behaves similarly to Stalker, using close combat and a ranged sonic attack and participating in the Dark Sculk vibration system.

Lurker

Health: 260 HP
Melee damage: 18 HP, plus Darkness for about 5 seconds

Lurkers are much tougher than Stalkers/Prowlers and are one of the heavier Dark Sculk threats.

They also use a ranged sonic attack and Warden-like sensing mechanics.

They also can give blindness to you.

Harasser

Health: 260 HP
Melee damage: 18 HP, plus Blindness for about 5 seconds

Harassers combine melee pressure with a sonic attack. Their ranged attack can be used out to roughly 15 blocks and they can apply area Blindness effects.

Constellation

Health: 260 HP
Scale: about 1.4×
Damage: 18 HP, plus Nausea for about 25 seconds

Constellation is a heavier ranged Stalker-family enemy. It uses sonic attacks and has a special burst mode that can fire multiple sonic attacks.

Gemless versions

The addon includes Gemless Stalker, Gemless Prowler, Gemless Lurker, Gemless Harasser and Gemless Constellation variants.

Treat these as alternate versions of the corresponding Stalker-family creature rather than completely separate gameplay classes.

They don't have sonic booms so they are easier to run away from.

9. Shattered family

Shattered

ID: warden_evo:shattered
Health: 60 HP
Melee damage: 10 HP
Extra effect: Slowness for about 2 seconds

Shattered are common hostile mobs in several dimension regions. They use Warden-style vibration/anger behavior and often appear in groups.

Groups can be as large as 7 Shattered in the natural spawn system.

A small portion of groups can contain a Shattered Leader.

Shattered Leader

Health: 140 HP
Melee damage: 27 HP
Extra effect: Wither for about 5 seconds
Scale: 1.25×

Leaders are much more dangerous than normal Shattered and act as rare upgraded encounters.

Shattered Head

The Shattered Head is a special trophy item/block.

When a Shattered is killed by a player it has a super rare chance of dropping its head

10. Hollowed family

Hollowed

ID: hollowed:hollowed
Health: 600 HP
Melee damage: 35 HP
Extra effect: Blindness

Hollowed are heavy Warden-like monsters. They use vibration/suspect/anger behavior and are capable of breaking blocks while pursuing a target.

They also have a Darkness aura around them and are adapted to survive in water.

Hollowed can be encountered naturally in Hollow/Frostgrotto areas and can also be associated with Hollow shriekers.

Infested

ID: hollowed:infested
Health: 850 HP
Melee damage: 7 HP

Infested is one of the addon’s largest monsters by health, but its melee hit is intentionally much lower than Hollowed’s.

The reason why he deals 7HP of damage is because his meele attacka are armor piercing.

Infested knockback retaliation

This build also has the Infested retaliation effect:

  • Horizontal knockback: 3
  • Vertical knockback: 2.25

When something hurts the Infested, the attacker is pushed away heavily.

Infested block breaking

While pursuing a target, Infested can break a large selection of blocks in its path, including many stone/deepslate blocks, ores, logs, doors, trapdoors and other terrain blocks.

Some of this behavior is native entity block-breaking, with a separate sonic/block interaction script also present for certain dimensions.

Headless

ID: hollowed:headless
Health: 350 HP
Melee damage: 35 HP
Extra effect: Blindness for about 10 seconds

Headless is an additional Hollow-style enemy in the addon. It has Warden-like sensing, a Darkness aura and extensive block-breaking behavior.

It can break blocks similar to infested.

It is available as addon content but is not part of the main natural spawn pools inspected for the current release.

Other Hollow variants

The pack also contains several specialized Hollow/Warden variants:

  • Batface — 500 HP, 30 damage + Blindness
  • Injured — 500 HP, 30 damage + Wither
  • Leaky — 250 HP, 20 damage + Hunger
  • Faceless — 600 HP, ranged/melee sonic combat, about 1.1× scale

These variants are especially associated with Hollow/Frostgrotto-style content and shrieker systems.

11. Other Deep Caverns mobs

The dimension also contains a large common sculk roster, including:

  • Sculk Spider
  • Sculk Zombie
  • Sculk Creeper
  • Dark/Sculk Skeleton
  • Sculk Centipede
  • Sculk Snapper
  • Sculk Leech
  • Shriek Worm

Sculk Leech

Sculk Leeches are small support enemies. A successful hit on a player can drain 5 experience points.

They will also soon be used as support mobs by the Stalker Boss.

Shriek Worm

Shriek Worm is a largely stationary hostile creature that attacks nearby players within a short range.

Its active attack range is about 5 blocks, making it dangerous when you walk directly into its space.

Currently it is bugged and does not attack anything.

Sculk Snapper

Sculk Snapper has a tameable/sittable-style system in the pack. Tamed Snappers can be sat and used for help. Can be certain meats and echo shards

12. Sculk shriekers and vibration gameplay

The addon has a custom shrieker system.

Hollow shriekers are tied to the Hollowed family and can summon Hollowed-style creatures, including variants such as Batface.

The general design is similar to the Warden concept: vibrations attract or activate dangerous creatures, so careless mining, fighting and movement around sensors/shriekers can make exploration harder.

13. Stalker Boss

ID: warden_evo:stalker_boss
Health: 750 HP
Damage: 35 HP
Movement: about 0.3
Scale: 1.5×

The Stalker Boss is a special encounter rather than a normal natural spawn.

Summoning

The way the boss is summoned is through a craftable spawn egg using the following

  • deeperdarker:reinforced_echo_shard

Using 9 can get you a compresseed echo block:

  • deeperdarker:compressed_echo_block

By using 5 compressed blocks in a plus formation you can get the boss spawn egg.

Boss reinforcements

Not currently but soon every 45 seconds, the boss support script can add:

  • 4 Shattered
  • 4 Sculk Leeches

This means the encounter becomes progressively harder if the boss is left alive for a long time.

Drops

The inspected loot configuration gives the Stalker Boss:

  • 5 Sculk Hearts
  • 1 Nether Star
  • 4–7 Warden Ingots

The Drops will change soon as they aren't really useful.

14. Angel variants and other extra entities

The resource/behavior packs also contain special entities such as:

  • Angel Warden (warden_evo:angel_warden)
  • Angel Shattered (warden_evo:angel_shattered)
  • Other Warden/Deep Dark variants

These are present in the addon, but the current release does not place them into the normal natural spawning flow described above. They should be treated as special/extra entity content unless another addon system explicitly summons them.

15. Warden armor

Warden armor is one of the main progression rewards.

Piece Protection Durability
Warden Helmet 18 2000
Warden Chestplate 30 4000
Warden Leggings 24 3500
Warden Boots 18 2000

Full-set bonus

Wearing the complete Warden armor set gives scripted combat bonuses including:

  • Strength
  • Speed I

Warden Helmet

The helmet provides Water Breathing.

It also gives you immunity to blindess and darkness.

Warden Chestplate

The chestplate provides Fire Resistance.

Warden Leggings

The leggings are just normal leggings.

Warden Boots

The boots have special sculk interaction behavior, including removing sculk vein beneath the player and producing experience effects.

16. Warden tools

The Warden tool set is intended to be stronger and more specialized than ordinary Netherite equipment.

Tool Damage Durability
Warden Sword 12 5000
Warden Axe 10 3800
Warden Pickaxe 8 4000
Warden Shovel 7 3200
Warden Hoe 8 3000

Special Warden tool behavior

The tools have scripted utility beyond their normal Minecraft functions.

  • Breaking blocks can produce extra experience.
  • Kills can trigger sculk-related block effects.
  • The axe can strip wood.
  • The shovel can create grass paths.
  • The hoe can make farmland and has special sculk-mining behavior.
  • The pickaxe is especially useful for hard Deep Dark materials.

Some block interactions intentionally alter normal Minecraft drops to support the addon’s sculk-themed progression.

17. Crafting Warden equipment

The pack supports both direct crafting and Netherite-to-Warden smithing upgrades.

The main upgrade material is the Warden Ingot.

Warden Ingot recipe

The Warden Ingot uses:

  • Sculk Bone
  • Reinforced Echo Shards
  • Heart of the Deep

The completed Warden gear can then be made directly with Warden materials or upgraded through the addon’s Warden smithing template system.

By using any netherite armor (Not Weapons) and a warden ingot along with a warden upgrade template, you can make the warden armor.

Empty.

19. Charms and passive utility items

Several Deep Caverns charms work simply by being carried in your inventory.

Ember Charm

Effect: Fire Resistance

Useful in Emberdeep and around lava/fire hazards.

Frost Charm

Effect: Night Vision

Useful in dark ice/frozen cavern sections.

Murk Charm

Effect: Water Breathing

Useful in water-heavy Murkmire areas.

Deepheart Amulet

Effect: Regeneration

A general-purpose survivability item for long cave trips.

These are inventory-based utility items rather than a normal armor slot item system.

20. Heart/gem combat items

The addon includes several throwable heart/gem projectile items associated with the major Warden creatures.

Their projectile effects are sonic-blast style attacks that can damage nearby targets and apply Darkness.

The inspected values are approximately:

Heart/Gem Blast damage
Stalker Heart 25 HP
Warden Heart 50 HP
Hollowed Heart 75 HP
Sculk Heart 250 HP

The Sculk Heart is the highest-damage projectile of this group.

These are obtainable by killing one of the stalker variants, the warden, and the hollowed family, but the chances are so low it's very rare to get.

21. Magic Gem Crystals

The addon contains special Magic Gem Crystal blocks and related gem systems.

These are connected to the Dark Sculk/Stalker ecosystem and are part of the addon’s special resource and structure design.

Gem items also appear in mob variants and loot tables, so they function as both collection materials and combat/progression items.

Realistically it's kinda useless.

22. Sculk Transmitter — how to use it

The Sculk Transmitter is the addon’s remote-storage utility.

It comes in multiple colored variants, but the variants use the same basic function.

Linking one

  1. Hold an unlinked Sculk Transmitter.
  2. Use it on a supported storage block.
  3. The transmitter records the target container's dimension and position.
  4. The addon keeps the destination chunk available for the remote-storage system.

Supported storage includes:

  • Chest
  • Trapped Chest
  • Barrel
  • Colored Shulker Boxes

Opening the remote container

Use a linked Sculk transmitter to open its remote-storage interface.

The UI supports inventory viewing and remote item management, including taking items and depositing selected items.

Re-linking

Sneak while using the linked transmitter on another supported container to link it to the new target.

Unlinking

Sneak + use without linking to a valid container can clear the transmitter's stored target.

This makes the item useful for long mining trips: one physical storage chest can be accessed from somewhere else in the dimension without walking back to it.

24. How to obtain the important items.

Reinforced echo shards are dropped by the mobs:

The stalker, prowler, lurker.

They all have a chance of dropping one.

Sculk Bones: They are obtained by killing shattered

Heart of the deep: Obtained by killing the warden.

Warden ingot: Either crafted or found in chests very rarely.

Warden Smithing Template: Either crafted or found in chests.

Sculk transmitter: Using sculk paste and a reinforced echo shard, Sculk paste is obtained by killing sculk crepers, dark skeletons and sculk zombies.

25. Deep Caverns resources

The base dimension adds several material families, including:

  • Deepshard
  • Glowspore
  • Raw Gem
  • Emberite
  • Sulfur
  • Cryolite
  • Frostiron
  • Bog Iron
  • Witch Crystal
  • Marsh Essence
  • Cavern Berries
  • Spore Caps
  • Deepheart materials

These resources are used across the dimension's weapons, charms, foods/materials and progression recipes.

26. Practical progression route

A sensible way to play the addon is:

Early exploration

Enter The Depths and gather the basic cavern materials while learning which biome you are in.

Mid-game

Craft charms early because their passive effects are useful for surviving specific environmental hazards.

Warden gear stage

Collect Reinforced Echo Shards, Sculk Bones, Hearts and other Warden materials. Build Warden armor and tools once you can support the material cost.

A full Warden set is particularly useful against sonic-based enemies because of its stacking sonic resistance.

Late exploration

The Stalker Boss is a separate high-end encounter and should be treated as a dedicated boss fight rather than a normal cave mob.

27. Survival tips

Watch the biome

The biome itself tells you what kind of enemy pressure to expect. Sculk Forest is Stalker-family territory; Hollow and Infest areas are much more specialized.

Treat shriekers as hazards

Do not casually trigger custom shriekers while already fighting another mob group. Their role is specifically to increase local danger.

Keep escape routes

The addon contains several enemies that can break blocks, use sonic attacks or apply Darkness/Blindness. Fighting beside a one-block-wide tunnel can be much more dangerous than fighting in open space.

Use the charms

Carry the charm that matches the environment you are in.
