In a world of Village Society, go on adventures, see new places, meet new villagers and stay out of trouble.

Chapter I: The Wanderer

You woke up on a hill with nothing but a pocket full of emeralds and a long road ahead. The world looked ordinary at first: grass, trees, the usual quiet.

Then the smoke rose over the next ridge. It wasn't one village but many. Hunters' camps and fishing hamlets, merchant towns and mafia hideouts, haunted villages and cherry blossom groves. Each one was built into the land as if it had always been there.

The villagers weren't the ones you remembered, either. There were more than a hundred of them, and every one had a job, a face and something to say.

Chapter II: Hired Help

The first town you reached was Market Town. A bald man in a black suit and dark sunglasses stood by the fountain.

"Bodyguard," he said. "Thirty emeralds and I'm yours."

You paid. From that moment on, anything that struck you answered to him. Swordsmen, archers and spearmen could all be hired the same way, and you could swap their armor and weapons for your own.

A Knight in shining armor sat on his armored horse at the gate. "Five hundred emeralds," he said, "and I ride for you."

You decided to save up.image 5

Chapter III: The Toll

Halfway to the mountains, three figures with red scarves stepped onto the path.

"Nobody passes without paying the toll."

The Bandit named his price, somewhere between fifty-five and ninety-eight emeralds. You could pay and walk away in peace. Or you could refuse, and find out how fast bandits run.

Later that night, a Robber Villager bumped into you in the dark. Two of your items vanished with him. Lesson learned.

Chapter IV: The Kingdom

The walls of the Royal Kingdom of Oakhaven rose taller than any tree. Towers with ladders. Banners. A keep with a real throne.

The King sat on it, bald under his golden crown, beside his Queen. Knights, guards and archers stood at every door.

Then a zombie slipped through the gate.

"HELP! HELP!" the King cried.

Every guard, every knight and every archer in the kingdom turned at once. The zombie never stood a chance. You made a note never to be the thing the King shouts about.image 8

Chapter V: Stay Out of Trouble

You thought you were careful. You weren't careful enough.

One wrong swing near a Police Villager, and cold iron closed around your wrists. Down you went, deep beneath the earth, into the Underground Dungeon. It had floor after floor of cells, guards on every level and a Warden at the very bottom. You served your two minutes listening to prisoners whisper, "Psst! Over here!"

When they let you out, you climbed the spiral stairs back to the sun and promised yourself you would behave.

Chapter VI: A Place to Call Home

You found the School Campus at last. Three floors of classrooms, a cafeteria that smelled like fresh bread, a playground and a clock tower. Beyond it were three whole neighborhoods of houses with families inside, and a yellow bus parked out front.

Kids waved. A teacher yelled, "Settle down, class!" A chef asked if you were hungry.

The farms ran on their own: wool, eggs, iron, honey. The blueprints in your pack meant you could raise a village anywhere you wanted.

So you did.

The road goes on. There are more villages over the next hill, more villagers to meet and more trouble to stay out of.
