Verity v4.2.0
What's new
Verity - Version 4.2.0
Version 4.2.0 of Verity brings a lot of updates, mainly to visuals! This update focuses on how the world looks. Verity behaves the same as in 4.1.3.
Added
- A second shader style: Somber Shaders BE. A darker, more nightmarishlook you can pick instead of the original shaders. It includes:
- Its own fog, sky colors, lighting, and color tone for 89 biomes, including caves, mountain peaks, the Deep Dark, and the Pale Garden.
- Film grain, a dark vignette around the edges of the screen, and a subtle lens-fringe effect.
- A new sun, moon, clouds, and End sky.
- Colored light from torches, lanterns, candles, and other light sources.
- Restyled flames, campfire smoke, end rod sparkles, fireflies, lava pops, Nether portal particles, and crying obsidian drips.
- More realistic surfaces with Vibrant Visuals. Verity's box, the chest version of Verity, the Smiler, the flashlight, and several of Verity's faces now have depth and shine, so they react to light instead of looking flat.
Changed
- The original shaders have a new name: "Draco's Dull Horizons Shaders".
- Dull Horizons now has a real day and night. The sun warms up at sunrise and sunset, fades out at dusk, and the moon takes over. Nights are noticeably darker than before.
- Three shader choices in the pack settings instead of two: Dull Horizons, Somber Shaders BE, or shaders off. If you had shaders turned on in 4.1.3, check the pack settings after updating and pick the style you want.
- Light falls differently on Verity. The shading on Verity and chest Verity was reworked.
- Smoother Smiler. The end of the Smiler's start-up animation is less jerky.
- Easier version requirement. Verity now requires Minecraft 1.26.0 or higher, rather than one exact version.
Removed
- The old "Verity™ Shaders ON" option. It has been replaced by the two shader styles above.
Before you play
- Turn on Vibrant Visuals or Raytracing in your video settings to see the shaders and the new surface detail.
- Keep Beta APIs enabled in your world, same as before.
