1. 🌎 WHAT IS SOLAR FRONTIER?

Solar Frontier is a space-exploration expansion for Minecraft Bedrock Edition.

You begin on Earth, build your first rocket, travel to the Moon, establish bases, mine alien materials, fight hostile extraterrestrial creatures, unlock increasingly advanced rockets, and travel through the Solar System.

Your ultimate journey is:

Earth → Moon → Saturn → Uranus → Mercury → Venus → Mars → Jupiter → Neptune → Pluto → Earth

Each planet has:

  • Its own dimension
  • Its own gravity
  • Its own terrain
  • Its own regions/biomes
  • Its own ore
  • Its own hazards
  • Hostile aliens on most planets
  • A progression item
  • A rover
  • A starter base
  • A rocket requirement

2. πŸš€ GETTING STARTED

When you first enter the world, you are on Earth.

Your first objective is:

Step 1

Collect:

  • Iron
  • Redstone
  • Diamonds

Step 2

Craft an:

Oxygen Tank

Step 3

Craft:

Rocket 1.0

Step 4

Put the Oxygen Tank into your chest armor slot.

Step 5

Use Rocket 1.0 to travel to the Moon.

3. 🌌 THE SOLAR-SYSTEM PROGRESSION

4. 🫁 OXYGEN SYSTEM

Oxygen is one of the most important mechanics in Solar Frontier.

Outside a planetary base

You need an:

Oxygen Tank

equipped in your chest slot.

If you don't have one, your oxygen reaches zero and you begin taking damage.

Oxygen capacity

One Oxygen Tank provides:

10 minutes of oxygen

The oxygen timer is shown on your screen.

Example:

OXYGEN 9:42

means you have approximately 9 minutes and 42 seconds remaining.

Recharging

Return to your planetary base.

While inside the base, your oxygen recharges.

Recharge rate

1 minute of oxygen per 1 real minute

Maximum:

10 minutes

Once full, the tank stops recharging.

5. 🫁 OXYGEN TANK

The Oxygen Tank is a special chest-slot item.

What it does

On planets:

  • Provides your oxygen supply.
  • Prevents oxygen starvation.
  • Allows you to explore outside your base.

In the Overworld:

  • Gives Water Breathing.

Normal water-breathing or Respiration equipment does not replace the planetary Oxygen Tank.

6. πŸš€ ROCKET SYSTEM

Every rocket takes you farther through the Solar System.

7. πŸŒ™ THE MOON

The Moon is your first extraterrestrial destination.

Moon size

The playable Moon area is:

10,000 × 10,000 blocks

That means:

  • X: approximately -5,000 to +5,000
  • Z: approximately -5,000 to +5,000

🏠 Moon Base

You arrive at a Moon base.

The base is your safe zone.

Inside the base:

  • Oxygen recharges.
  • You can prepare for expeditions.
  • You can organize resources.
  • You can launch your next rocket.

πŸŒ™ Moon Gravity

The Moon has very low gravity.

You automatically receive:

Jump Boost

and

Slow Falling

This makes jumping and falling feel different from Earth.

πŸͺ¨ Moon Terrain

The Moon is primarily made from:

Moonstone

Moonstone is the main Moon material rather than being treated as a normal ore.

⛏️ Moon Ores

The Moon contains:

Moon Iron Ore

Moon Iron is an advanced material used in the space progression.

Moon Redstone

A special red Moon mineral used as a Moon resource.

πŸ•³οΈ Moon Craters

The Moon generates craters.

Craters can range from small impact marks to larger depressions.

πŸ•³οΈ Moon Tunnels

Random underground tunnels can appear.

They are large enough for the player to enter and explore.

Possible uses:

  • Mining
  • Finding ores
  • Exploring
  • Building underground Moon bases

πŸŒ‘ Moon Regions

Moonstone Expanse

The primary Moon surface.

Large open areas dominated by Moonstone.

πŸ‘½ Moon Life

There are:

NO NATURAL LIFE FORMS ON THE MOON.

The Moon is intentionally empty except for terrain, structures, resources, and the player.

8. πŸͺ SATURN

Saturn is the second major destination.

You need:

Rocket 2.0

🏠 Saturn Base

You initially arrive at a small:

10 × 10 Saturn base

23. ⚠️ SURVIVAL RULES

Rule 1 — Never leave base without oxygen

Always check:

OXYGEN 10:00

before beginning a long expedition.

Rule 2 — Watch your oxygen timer

If you reach:

0:00

you are in serious danger.

Return to the base immediately.

Rule 3 — Keep a spare Oxygen Tank

For long expeditions, carrying another tank is recommended.

Rule 4 — Plan your mining trips

A tunnel may contain valuable ore, but your oxygen timer continues running.

Rule 5 — Learn each planet's gravity

Moon:

Very low

Jupiter:

Very high

Other planets have their own gravity values.

Rule 6 — Don't underestimate aliens

Aliens are hostile and become especially dangerous when you're far from your base.

24. βš™οΈ TECHNICAL NOTES

Solar Frontier uses Bedrock's scripting system for its custom planetary systems.

Microsoft's current documentation states that custom dimensions are registered during the startup event and are created using the void generator.

The add-on therefore uses scripting to construct the playable planetary environments, bases, terrain, caves, craters, ores, hazards, and alien encounters.

Bedrock's Dimension API provides methods for manipulating blocks and spawning entities, which is what makes this procedural approach possible.

The crafting system uses Bedrock's recipe JSON system, which supports shaped recipes like the ones listed throughout this guide.

Custom item behavior is connected through Bedrock's custom-component system.

πŸ† FINAL OBJECTIVE
