The Void Infection

Quickstart

1. Search underground in the Overworld for Void Ore (it generates between Y -48 and 24). Mine it with a pickaxe to get Void Shards or Rift Crystals. Corrupted Zombies can also rarely drop Shards.
2. Craft a Void Ingot, then use it to make a Void Blade

1. Equip the Blade and press Use to dash in the direction you’re looking. Try the Gravity Staff or Void Scythe when you have the materials; their Use abilities have cooldowns.
2. To summon the boss, craft and place a Rift Altar, then use a Rift Sigil on it. The Sigil is consumed when the Void Titan successfully appears, so prepare for a difficult fight.

Overview

The infection grows over time while players are in the Overworld. It increases the frequency of hostile encounters and eventually triggers Void Storms. Your action bar displays the infection level, your mod-mob kills, and a kill-based rank. When the Void Titan is nearby, it shows the Titan’s phase and remaining health instead.

Infection rises to a maximum of 100%. Defeating the Titan reduces it by 10%.

What It Adds

• Materials and blocks: Void Ore, Void Shards, Void Ingots, Rift Crystals, Rift Cores, Riftstone, and the Rift Altar.
• Hostile mobs: Corrupted Zombies, Void Stalkers, Void Knights, and the Void Titan.
• Weapons: Void Blade, Gravity Staff, Void Scythe, and Rift Bow.
• Armor: Voidbound, Voidforged, and Void Sovereign sets.
• World events: Increasing enemy activity and Void Storms that create rift sites nearby.

How To Use

Weapons

Press Use while holding a weapon with an ability. Ordinary attacks still use your usual attack control.

Rift sites and the Void Titan

At infection level 10 and above, Void Storms can form a rift site near a player. These sites leave Riftstone and a Rift Altar; they are not a route to another dimension. You can also craft an altar yourself.

Use a Rift Sigil on an altar to summon the Titan. The sigil is used up on a successful summon, and another Titan cannot be summoned within 64 blocks of an existing one. The Titan’s three phases begin as its health falls below roughly two-thirds and one-third. Later phases attack more often and call in minions: Zombies in phase two and Knights in phase three. Watch the action bar nearby for its phase and health.

Crafting And Obtaining

All listed recipes use a crafting table. Recipe previews show the ingredients and layout when opened.

Materials, altar, and weapons

Void Ore generates underground in the Overworld and drops either Void Shards or Rift Crystals. Corrupted Zombies have a small chance to drop a Void Shard; Void Stalkers can drop a Rift Crystal. A player-killed Void Titan drops a Rift Core and 3–6 Void Ingots. Rift Cores are also used in Void Sovereign armor recipes.

Armor

Each set has four pieces. Craft the matching helmet, chestplate, leggings, and boots to receive its full-set effect.

Abilities And Mechanics

Full armor sets grant passive effects while worn:

• Voidbound: Speed.
• Voidforged: Resistance.
• Void Sovereign: Strength and stronger Resistance.

Progression And Strategy

Start by mining Void Ore and collecting Shards for a Void Ingot and early gear. Use a Rift Bow for ranged attacks, or carry a Gravity Staff to gather nearby enemies before fighting. Watch the infection display: Stalkers begin appearing at higher levels, with Knights becoming a threat later on.

A complete Voidbound set grants Speed; Voidforged adds Resistance. Save Rift Cores from the Titan for the strongest armor tier. Before summoning the Titan, bring good armor, healing, and weapons, and leave room to dodge its attacks and the minions it summons. Kill milestones change your displayed rank: Survivor, Riftmarked (10 kills), Void Hunter (30), and Rift Sovereign (60).
