SURVIVAL INSTINCT
Think you know how to survive in Minecraft? Here, eating and sleeping are not enough. Your body breaks down part by part, the sun can kill you, the cold can freeze you, and at night the monsters are faster, stronger and smarter.
🩸 Body-part health
Your body has 8 parts: head, torso, both arms, both legs and both feet. Each one has its own health (2 hearts) and the game detects where you are hit.
Head: an arrow to the head kills you instantly (can be turned off in the settings).
Torso: makes you bleed and gives you nausea.
Right arm: you mine slower and hit weaker.
Left arm: your shield goes on cooldown for a few seconds every time you are hit.
Legs and feet: you move slower. If they are completely broken, you can barely walk.
Falls: falling 8 blocks or more breaks all the bones in your legs and feet. They heal on their own in a day and a half of Minecraft time, or faster with a bandage or pills.
💧 Thirst
A 10-drop bar that goes down over time (faster when sprinting or in the heat). Refill it with water bottles, milk, honey bottles, melon and berries. At zero you dehydrate and die.
🌡️ Temperature: extreme heat and cold
An animated gauge with a little face that changes with how you feel: it shivers from cold, sweats from heat, or passes out from heatstroke.
Sun: every 10 seconds in the sun, the heat goes up one step. After about 35 seconds it starts hurting you, and every heat hit takes a full heart. If you don't cover up, you die.
Any shade saves you: if there is a block above you, even if it only covers you partially, the sun stops affecting you and within about 5 seconds your temperature goes back to a medium level.
Helmets protect you from the sun... but they melt: the sun wears them down very fast until they break.
Cold: on snow or ice, every 10 seconds the cold goes down one step until you freeze. Water, rain, night and altitude also cool you down.
Heat from lava, fire and the Nether.
Global warming: every day that passes, heat rises faster (up to 200% more). The longer you live, the worse it gets.
🍗 Harsher hunger
You get hungry faster, and much faster when sprinting.
🌙 Tough nights
At night, all hostile mobs are faster (even faster from the second night).
From the second night they hit harder, and harder every night (up to +50%).
They are smart: they place blocks to make bridges, stairs and pillars until they reach you. Those blocks disappear on their own after 45 seconds.
From the second night they break blocks quickly to get through (they won't break bedrock, obsidian or portals).
Skeletons shoot almost twice as fast from the very first night.
More hostile mobs also spawn at night, and every day that passes they all hit 3% harder (up to 60%).
Bosses are not affected (Ender Dragon, Wither, Warden and Elder Guardian).
🧰 Items
Body Scanner: you receive it when you spawn and it stays locked in your inventory (you can't drop it or lose it). Use it to see the status of every part of your body. Sneak and use it to open the settings. It cannot be crafted.
Bandage: heals 1 heart instantly and stops bleeding when used on the torso. Recipe: 2 paper + 1 white wool + 1 honey bottle (makes 2).
Pills: restore half a heart per limb every 2 minutes. Recipe: 1 gold nugget + 1 sugar + 1 bone meal + 1 spider eye (makes 2).
Bandages and pills are not given at the start: you have to craft them. In creative you can take them from the inventory.
🎨 Visuals
New hearts, thirst drops and hunger icons, drawn in pixel art.
Animated thermometer with little faces and screen effects: ice cracks when it's cold and heat waves when the sun is roasting you.
Body card with a doll that shows your broken bones and injuries.
Brighter sun.
⚙️ Settings (sneak and use the scanner)
You can turn on or off: thirst, temperature, headshot death, mobs that get stronger over the days, extra mobs at night, tough nights and global warming. There is also a performance control (auto, low, medium or high) so it runs well on phones.
