v4.0.0 - The Hybrid and Breeding Update

New

Genders: every dragon is now male or female. Tamed dragons show their species and gender as their name.

Breeding: feed a tamed adult male and female Dragon Treats until both fall in love. Each dragon needs its own number, from 15 to 60, with a progress bar. Babies hatch already tamed. Parents rest 5 minutes between clutches.

210 hybrid dragons, one for every pair of species. They have mixed bodies, faces, wings, horns, tails and blended colours, and are a little bigger than either parent. Each has dual-element breath and fused close and ranged abilities with named elemental reactions (Scalding Steam, Thermal Shock, Plasma Burst, Flash Freeze, Electrocharge, Wildfire, Eclipse, Obsidian Prison and more). Hybrids can breed and pass on either bloodline.

4 legendary hybrids, with a 1 in 200 chance from the right bloodlines: Tempest Sovereign, Solar Phoenix Wyrm, Eclipse Leviathan and Gaia Colossus. They have high-detail textures, unique set pieces, more than double the health, and overpowered abilities and passives (no-cooldown lightning, rebirth in flame, area-wide freeze, golem guardians). Legendaries can't breed.

Wild hybrids: a 0.5% chance every 20 minutes that a wild hybrid, sometimes a legendary, lands near a player.

Dragon Trap: cages a dragon for 4 minutes so you can feed and tame it safely, and returns the trap once the dragon is tamed. Recipe: 4 iron blocks, 4 iron bars and 1 Dragon Treat.

Leashes: all dragons can be leashed.

Dragon profiles in the Dragon Horn menu: gender, bloodline, parents, abilities and lore.

Changed

Taming a wild dragon now takes 15 to 60 Dragon Treats (different for each dragon) with a progress bar, instead of a 20% chance per treat.

The Keeper's Guide now covers breeding, the Dragon Trap and leashes.


Fixed

Wings no longer clip through dragon bodies. They now rest spread to the sides, swept back slightly, with their own idle animation.

Unridden dragons now find and fight enemies on their own and use their abilities.
